Hi,
My webservice is currently deployed on WIndows 2000 server and runs pretty
fine. I am trying to run my webservice on a Windows 2003 server. My
webservice tries to write to a eventlog. The code is as follows:
System.Diagnostics.EventLog Log = new System.Diagnostics.EventLog(
EventLogName );
Log.Source = EventLogName;
Log.WriteEntry( "PCHistory Service Application started up successfully.",

I can't connect to our database (seperate database server) from within my
webservice. I cannot understand why.!!!
* I have configured IIS not to allow anonymous access and to use "windows
integrated authentication"
* I have configured the webService to use "windows" authentication and to
impersonate whomeever uses it.
* In the client (the one that consumes the webservice) I have specified the
network credentials (DefaultCredentials)...

I wish just to draw the attention to the fact, that my MyClass1...and
MyClassN are declared "Serializable"... But, I never get my classes
methods, I get just attributes (Or methods Properties) !!!!...
Must I declare my classes methods as webmethod's too ?
Best Regards
As I know, in the WebServices context using VB.net we can serialize
classes
and get all attributes (Or properties methods) of any class just

I have created a simple web service in VC# that adds two numbers. It returns
an integer value to the client once invoked.
I used Visual Studio .NET 2003, Windows XP Pro and .NET 1.1.
I created a Windows form client. While debugging I get the following error :
Unhandled Exception: System.Net.WebException: The request failed with HTTP
status 401: Access Denied.

I'm receiving an exception when my webmethod exits after opening/closing an
Access database.
I can reproduce this easily enough by creating a new default ASP .NET Web
Service in VS.NET 2003. Adding this code to the default HelloWorld()
webmethod will cause the problem.
String* sConnection = S"Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;User ID=Admin;Data
Source=c:\\mydb.mdb";

Hi,
I have what seems to be a common problem, but the solutions I've found don't
seem to work. I would like to use a web service to create a file at a UNC
location in a shared file. Currently I'm just running it locally and saving
the file locally using my machines UNC path.
I have given user ASPNET full control over the folder I want to write the
file to. I've also tried using the web config identity impersonation to use
my user...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
