I have a Table in a Typed Dataset which contains a Date field called
EventDate.
I've ensured that the field is defined as Date as opposed to DateTime in the
Typed Dataset.
When I generate an xml file from an instance of this typed dataset using the
ds.WriteXml method, all the dates come out formatted as follows:
<EventDate>2004-01-26T00:00:00.0000000-05:00</EventDate>

Hi,
I should use XML to synchronize the data from different (VB.NET)
applications, and I was just wondering which Overloads of these functions
( ReadXmlSchema, ReadXml and WriteXml) goes the fastest? I don't think the
ReadXMLSchema would give a lot of difference, but maybe the overlaods of
ReadXml and WriteXml will. Especially with larges files/datatables...
Should I use the IO.Stream? The XmlReader/XmlWriter?

Hi
I am trying to write data back to the client using dataset.WriteXML and I
have set the Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture to "no" (norwegian) just
before writing the data using WriteXML.
But dataset.WriteXML dosent seems to be using the CurrentCulture settings
and still writes dates, numeric values using the original settings.

I have a dataset that has DBNull in certain columns, now when I write
out this one to XML, I only get the columns as elements that do have
data in it. However I do need also the empty colums as empty elements
in the XML. How to do that ?
I don't understand why there is no simple option to specify the output
format, or did I miss something ?

Greetings.
I am using a myDataSet.WriteXml(StringWriter) function (and then using the ToString() function to convert it to a string) to build an XML string based on the contents of my dataset. This in itself works great.
I am then passing this string back to a PowerBuilder module that is taking this XML string and doing what it needs to do with it. This is almost working great as well. It works fine for all datatypes except DateTime...

hello i have to know if the writeXML process is a blocking process.
Other mean if i write
doc.WriteXML();
int i = 0;
Is i = 0 can be executed before doc.WriteXML() method ended????
All this when the data we have to save can need up to 2 3 seconds.
I think it's not blocking according to what I see in my application.

When using DataSet.WriteXml to write out the data of a dataset, it appends
d2p1 to the beginning of each of the attribute names, which causes the
program to crash on a subsequent load, as the attributes it expects don't
exist any more.
I have it done like so:
ds1.WriteXml(fw);
where fw is a System.IO.Stream with read/write access to the xml file I'm
working with and ds1 is, of course, my data set.

The problem I am having is related to writexml. I have a save button on my
application that updates the dataset and then using the writexml(...)
function saves the dataset to an xml file. I have noticed that the file does
not change everytime I click the save button. I get no errors but the
