Visual Studio 2008

3.5

3.0
4.ASP.NET
There is talk about "asp.net 3.5" but it is somewhat confusing as it
actually executes using the 2.0 libraries. Maybe someone else can further
clarify this one.
5.SQL SERVER
Latest version in production is Sql Server 2005. There is also Sql
Server 2008 which is still in beta and is expected to come out later this
year.

Hi. I know that different .net framework versions can live together, but can I install the newer .net framework 1.1 and after that install the older .net framework 1.0 version? Or do I need to install the old one first and after that the newer one? TIA, Erik Cruz

Hi All, If a user runs a Framework 1.0 app, and then opens a 1.1 app, and then opens a 1.2 app (when version 1.2 comes) , does this mean that all three versions of the Framework will be loaded into memory? All 3 doing GCing and jit-ing and negotiating for available memory? I'm assuming yes, since VS7 can't be used with 1.1. Thanks,

I ship a C# asp.net app in .dll form which is targeted at ASP.Net v1.1. If a user loads is on a machine with ASP.Net v1.0, it crashes--no reasonable message--just a null-pointer exception before any of my code is reached.. Is there a standard practice to detect and/or prevent this situation. I haven't found an option in the installer to detect the asp.net version. thanks charles

I have ASP.NET websites deployed on a number of servers. Thee were developed with Visual Studio 2003. Is it true that Visual Studio 2005 only supports .NET Framework 2.0 and I will be required to have Visual Studio 2005 for those ASP.NET websites and Visual Studio 2003 for my currently deployed websites? Is there a summary document listing what is provided in Visual Studio 2005? Apparently there is support for .NET Framework 1 and 2,...

Hi, We have an ERP-Application that needs to interact with an "external accountancy program". This is acchieved through a "Connector" (ActiveX-dll) so kindly provided by the Accountancy-Program. Our issue however is that there are multiple (current) versions of that connector, each one working only with a certain version of the installed accountancy-program. Of all current versions we use shared (I mean available in all versions, I don't...

If I develop an app in 2.0 and install it on a machine running an existing app on 1.1, both versions are installed on the machine. Are there any possibilities of version conflicts between the two apps? Does the 2.0 installation replace any 1.1 files that could cause problems for the 1.1 app? -- Rick Elcessor RelataData Inc

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
