For unfortunate reasons, I'm considering switching back to Win XP
(from OS X) as my "main" system. Windows has so many annoyances that
I can only compare it to driving in the Bay Area at rush hour (OS X
is like driving in Portland at rush hour--not as bad, but getting
there), but there are really only a couple of things that are really,

Hi all
Our organisation is moving form Win NT / full version of Acc 97 to Win XP /
run-time version of Acc 03 (as part of Office 03) for the users. We have
heaps of mdbs on the servers - some split, some not.
I would have thought it ok (i.e. other things being equal) to copy a
compiled version of an Acc 97 mdb, convert it (I have a full version of
Access), then copy the 'new' file back to its original location?

I was wondering if there was a utility that could tell you when your C#
application is making cross-apartment COM calls. I have a fairly large
application that makes extensive use of a 3rd party object system that
is exposed to .NET through COM, and I'm really trying to avoid slow
cross-apartment calls.
Also, is using Invoke() on a class created from the main thread a
solution to making COM calls into that thread?

various complications surrounding Digital signatures and Sandbox mode

Here is what I am trying to accomplish. I have an MDI application on the
left side of the client area I have a borderless form that holds a treeveiw
for navigation. When an item is selected from the treeview it opens a
seperate form. Similar to an MDI Windows Explorer. Now, I want to prevent
any for form from being moved into the area occupied by the navigation form.
