Cannot load a raw assembly in a newly created AppDomain

Hello,

I am trying to load up an Assembly in a newly created AppDomain:

m_TempAppDomain = AppDomain.Creat eDomain("Tempor ary", null,
AppDomain.Curre ntDomain.SetupI nformation);

byte[] AssemblyBytes = GetAssemblyByte s(assemblyPath) ;
m_TempAppDomain .Load(AssemblyB ytes);

The code above produces a "The system cannot find the file specified."
runtime error. If I try loading up from the main AppDomain:

Assembly CandidateAssemb ly = AppDomain.Curre ntDomain.Load(A ssemblyBytes);

everything looks fine. What am I missing?

Thanks in advance,
V.

Hi! I am trying to create one new Application Domain and calling one Assembly in that created Application Domain. It is working fine with stand alone application. But I need to do the same with ASP.NET. In brief I will explain: I want to create one Application domain, and call one assembly in that created application domain, and excute some methods/functions of that calling assembly and unload the application domain. All these things...

Hello, I have read numerous post stating that the only way to unload an assembly (DLL in my case) is to create a separate AppDomain, load the assembly, then unload it by calling AppDomain.Unload. When trying to delete the DLL file I get an exception that access is denied. When trying to copy over the DLL file, I get an exception that it is being used by another process.

I have raised a discussion about assembly unloading.But we can't get a final solution. Since we cannot unlaod a assembly,Is there any reference about this indicate that this problem won't make smartclient use up memory? Best regard navyliu

Hi, (My code is at the end of this post) I have an AppDomain that must load a simple assembly that has only one class with one method and it does not work... I receive this exception : "Could not load file or assembly 'ModuleLoader.dll' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified." Does anyone have an idea of something I'm missing? Thanks

Ok so I am making plugins for my application and I have the plugins located in a subdirectory: /AppDir /AppDir/Plugins All my plugins reference a Plugins interface file, which is also located in the Plugins subdirectory. I used AppDomainSetup.PrivateBinPath property to have it probe the subdirectory, but when I try to load it into my AppDomain it throws an error: Could not load file or assembly 'EmptyPlugin, Version=1.0.0.0,...

Hello, I am confused with load assembly in AppDomain. I created ASP Web application, same business logic is realized in custom DLLs, and I need to load ones in my application. If I use ‘Load(assmblyRef)’ method of AppDomain class, assembly is loaded but DLL file locked. I try to read DLL in byte array and load assembly calling Load(byte) method. All are pretty, but in contrast to calling Load(assmblyRef)’ method, calling...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
