Hi there,
Given a collection of SqlDbType enums (eg, {BigInt, VarChar, Bit}), I
need to convert it to a collection of corresponding C# Types (here,
{long, string, bool}).
The contents of the source collection is not known ahead of time; it
could be any valid combination of enums in the SqlDbType enumeration.
Short of writing an explicit switch statement for all elements in the
enumeration, is there a neat way to convert SqlDbType enums to Types?

Hi all,
When I call a stored procedure, one of the output parameter returns a
sqldbtype.integer but when assigned to a C# int field/property I get this
error:
int myfield;
// say, parms is the sql integer data
myfield = parms; // creates the error.

I am having a strange problem with invalid type casts. I am trying to
update a MS SQL Database with a stored procedure. When I setup the
parameters collection for the command object I get a invalid cast
exception error:
Compiler Error Message: BC30311: Value of type 'Date' cannot be
converted to 'Integer'.
The real problem here is that the type in the database and the stored
prcedure aren't integers at all rather they are datetime...

Here is the code for executing stored procedure ExecuteSP() , and object that sets all its parameters in other
functions and the stored procedure. I think it has something to do
with db datatypes since this is the first time, i am working with
databases and not really much of an expert.
How can I rectify it? One thing more...... Should I be passing a
