Time for another random syntax idea. . .
So, I was tinkering in the interactive interpreter, and came up with the
following one-size-fits-most default argument hack:
Py> x = 1
Py> def _build_used():
.... y = x + 1
.... return x, y

I'm working on a custom assembly and I'm trying to figure out the best
approach to handling known constraints within the assembly, once
compiled, to alert the developer at compile time of a potential issue.
For example, in the assembly I would like to add a constraint that
states a particular property member of the class can not be equal to one
other property. In standard coding I can throw an exception during
run-time, but I would rather...

Hi,
In VB.NET, what happen to constants when compiling? Are they copied at
every place they are needed? Or the application has to refer to
constants address each time it need it at run time?
Thanks

is there any way to use templates to bind integer/floating point
constants to a template for compile-time use?
e.g.
template <double conversion>
class meters
{
const factor = conversion;

Reason 1:

Is there a way with Visual Studio 2003 and 2005 to list the name a value of
compile time constants like those created with #define statements.
Right now I have the need to use the same C# code in 2003 and 2005 and need
to know which version is doing the work. I could create one but if there is
already one there I would rather use it.
Thanks

I've been developing a C89 microcontroller application for a while
now and I've been testing its compilation using gcc. I've gotten zero
errors and zero warnings with gcc, but now that I've moved over to the
micrcontroller compiler I'm getting all sorts of errors.
One thing I'd like to clarify is the need (in C89) for a compile-
time constant in the initialiser of a variable. The compiler rejects the
following source file:
/* Start...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
