MS's official variable/function naming standard

Does MS have an official C# variable/function/codingstyle standard that
is available on the internet? What standard do they use for their
internal coding? Mind posting a link? Thanks.

Not sure about specific MS standards on the net - theres loads
available if you do a search.

There is a book published by MS "Framework Design Guidelines" which
goes thorugh all of the MS recommendations in some detail. These are
pretty much the ones covered by fxCop too.

iDesign have a well written style guideline document, although I
personally don't like some of their variable naming policies.

Why is it, Microsoft manage to write operating systems and office applications with every bell and whistle facility known to man. Yet, even after years and years of development they still cannot produce a decent version of MS SQL Server, one without a plethora of flaws and limitations? Personally I'd sack the MS SQL Server Chief Architect, start addressing some fundementals and do what MS do best - copy the best functionality of their...

I was just wondering what naming convention most of you use for class variables. Underscore, "m_" prefix, camel case, capitalized, etc? Has one style emerged as the most popular? Thanks for any comments. --

We often get questions on this site that refer to the scope of variables and where and how they are declared. This tutorial is intended to cover the basics of variable scope in VBA for MS Access. For the sake of brevity I am sticking to common usage. Wherever the term procedure is used in this tutorial it actually refers to a subroutine or function. Definition of Scope The scope of a variable where this variable can be seen or accessed...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
