Hi,
In debugging a core dump, I run purify against my code, it says
several "Free Memory Read" errors. All the errors are on one delete
statement. Usually this means some pointer is deleted by non-owner. But
it is really hard to locate the error code.
The code structure is like this:

I am currently having a problem with random, intermittent lock ups in my
ASP.net application on our production server (99% CPU usage by 3 threads,
indefinately). I currently use IIS Debug Tools to do a memory dump of the
app when the lock up occurs, however the stack information is not very
useful.
I have just put a new build of our system onto production, and this build is

Hi,
can anyone explain the difference between a memory resource and a non-memory
resource. I have been shown an example of error handling for a non-memory
resource (accessing a file) but am not sure what the terms refer to.
A few examples of each would be ideal.

I'm trying to track down where objects are referenced because I want to
clean up the memory when I'm done with them. I thought I found all
references but it doesn't seem that way because calling GC.Collect() doesn't
free very much.
I ran the built-in profiler and I get a warning:
"An abnormal percentage of objects were collected in generation 2, which is
inefficient. Investigate further by using the Objects Lifetime view."

Hello, I've been reading about this topic, and I've gotten myself more
confused, not less.
We have a single-processor license SQL Server Standard 2005 (xeon 2.8
ghz) with 4 GB RAM in Windows Server 2003 SP1 Standard.
I turned on the /3GB switch in boot.ini but not PAE or AWE, would it be
good to have either one??

I didn't have the problem with dumping as a string. When I tried to
save this object to a file, memory error pops up.
I am sorry for the mention of size for a dictionary. What I meant by
65000X50 is that it has 65000 keys and each key has a list of 50
tuples.
I was able to save a dictionary object with 65000 keys and a list of
15-tuple values to a file. But I could not do the same when I have a
list of 25-tuple values for 65000 keys.
