Hello everyone,
I have a abstract class called DalBase and in that class I have a couple of
methods. One of the method that I have is called BeginTran() and this class
initializes a private Transaction object. I also have a method called
CommitTran() that disposes the private Transaction object, thus setting it
to null. Now the issue is, if the user calls BeginTran, I have to make sure
he/she calls CommitTran() so that the private...

Here's the Scenario I am facing:
I've got a winform managed c++ client which connects to my managed
COM+ server application (by making createinstance, then typecasting
the object to an interface, then calling methods over it). This COM+
server application is from a C# dll that has references to Interop dlls
(com type libraries written in unmanaged c++) and MC++ wrappers over
unmanaged c++ code. I've got object pooling enabled with (Min : 0...

Hi All:
I am creating a COM+ Pool object in C#. I set up the following attributes:
JIT (true),Pool size; and at the end of each public method I called
ContextUtil.DeactivateOnReturn=true to set DONE flag; and also I override
CanBeBooled method to true.
In my calling program in C#, first of all I am using NEW to create a object,
then I call the method then I call dispose.

We are deploying a large .NET 1.1 web app. We are using SP1 of the .NET 1.1
framework. Our build system compiles all of our components in release mode.
We deploy on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise SP1
We noticed the other day that our web.config said debug=true. We read some
articles and decided we should release with debug=false.
I stopped IIS, cleared out the ASP.NET temporary folder, changed the flag to
false, and restarted IIS.

I have a web service which calls a .NET queued serviced component in
COM+. I turned statistics on for the component. I call the component
10 times, 10 objects get created but they do not go away. I'm calling
Marshal.ReleaseComObject after I make each call.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
