I am wanting to take a research class in Graduate School. My professor said he would be willing to work with me, but I had to come up with the idea. Since I know VERY little about Java, I was hoping some one out there in the Java World might have an idea. I don't think I am breaking the rules about asking for a topic... It has to be a quality idea that can be done in a 16 week semester that is appropriate for a graduate student. It...

I'm a Computer Engineering graduate student (w/ a BS in Computer Science) and I was looking for salary information and where the hot jobs are, and with every search I execute, I kept getting pages on how MS certifications...

To get her employer to pay tuition for a Master's degree - MSEE/MSET - she needs to find a transferrable course in Visual C++ which benefits the employer immediately. (The MSET...

Hi All, (First my apologies for this kind of "spam" message. But for my thesis this will be my once in a lifetime spam moment... ) At the moment I have to graduate for my master in Business Information Management and need to do a survey for my thesis. The thesis is about Web vs. Desktop based applications and the differences perceived by the user. So not from the management/technology point of view but from the end-user. I focus now...

To all, About twenty years ago, I was admitted to a Ph.D. program for computer science. It was also around that time that I was diagnosed for chronic depression, which forced me out of that program into the working word. I had done my best since then as a software engineer, until late 2005, when I

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
