Updating from MenuItem to ToolStripMenuIt em

I have a menu structure that formats that left aligns string1 and right
aligns string2. To do this, I use the OwnerDraw, Popup, DrawItem and
MeasureItem properties or events of the MenuItem class. None of these exist
for the ToolStripMenuIt em. Can someone point me to a Web reference that
explains how to emulate the functionality of these properties and events in
the ToolStripMenuIt em. I can't find any useful references for this task.

Asked differently, using ToolStripMenuIt ems, hou can I format my menu text
to show String1 text left aligned and String2 text right aligned?

I am developing a small little Service Control Application. I am using a listview control with checkboxes and getting the list of services I want to control from a text file. When you check a checkbox, it should either stop the service or start the service depending on each respective service's status. I want the listView to update the status for each service as they are checked. instead all I can seem to do is clear the listView and I...

I'm trying to enable a menuitem in the parent form from a mdichild. Rather than making the menuitems public, I'd go for a public method in the parent form to do the change, but when I call the method from the mdichild, I get this error: C:\MyProjects\Visual Studio Projects\Tournament\Forms\frmLogin.cs(69): The name 'test' does not exist in the class or namespace 'Tournament.frmLogin' frmLogin is the mdichild.

I have a VB 2003 project that I have updated to 2005. I notice that MenuItem is being phased out and replaced by ToolStripMenuItem. I want to investigate the new capabilities of this new control because the existing control causes me some problems. Specifically I nothice that ToolStripMenuItem does not have a PopUp event or the OwnerDraw property. My 2003 project utilizes these elements I suspect that somewhere on the Internet (but...

I have encountered a problem that I am having trouble solving. I have one main UI. From this UI you can bring up a new non-modal Windows form that displays some other data. However, each time a new form is brought up, it is done so in a new thread. What I want to do, is have these new forms (in their new thread) make a call to a public method in my main UI's class. This method(funciton) accepts a string argument (and returns a string as...

My application has a standard MenuStrip on top of the window and a ContextMenuStrip that pops up when the user clicks the right mouse button. I have defined a ToolStripMenuItem that I want to appear on both the MenuStrip and the ContextMenuStrip, but any attempt to do so makes the ToolStripMenuItem silently disappear from the other menu. See this little program:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
