Hello All,
I'm trying to get a "Virtual Listbox" to work. I've currently got a form,
and used CreateWindowExA to create a ListBox with the LBS_OWNERDRAWFIXED and
LBS_NODATA flags on it. I've allso subclassed the window and do see all
kinds of WS_??? messages coming by.
But now I'm stuck :-\
I've got *no* idea what to do next, and all my searching on the web leads me

I have have two list boxes. One is a listing of all possible variables.
We'll call this listbox A. The other is a listing of all the selected
variables. We'll call this listbox B. If a person double-clicks on one of
the variables in listbox A it "moves" it to listbox B. What is going on
behind the scenes is that the table that holds all these variables has a
yes/no field call Print. When the user double clicks on the value it fires

Hello,
I have a ListBox control on a form.
I add members of a class to the Items collection. They show up and I can
select them. The text shown is from my classes ToString override.
Now, later on I need to update this item. I find it in the Items collection
and update a member used by the ToString member function. However, the text
shown for the item in the ListBox does not change.

I have a listbox set to simple multi select. For this example, users only
select one item at a time. I have command buttons on the form for First,
Previous, Next, Last, New (record). The form and listbox are unbound. The
listbox rowsource is a value list. The list box has about sixty items in
it. Each item in the list box corresponds to a record in the database.
When a user selects a row in the list box, the record is retrieved. The...

I am trying to find some method of attaching a Listbox object to a
list object so as the contents of the list are changed the contents of
the Listbox will be updated to match. I have found a few references
to something like this in this old post

as well as here http://effbot.org/zone/wck-4.htm .
It just seems that there should be some...

Hello all:
Clearly, I'm not getting it! Here is the scenario:
On a web page, I have two list boxen and a text box. The first listbox
is populated at page load time (if it is not a postback). This listbox
has AutoPostback = True. When the user selects an item from this list,
the second listbox is populated with more items relevant to this
selection. I am using an SQLDataSource web control for this. These
items are headers. I want, when...

(If you've seen this in the drawing NG, sorry. I inadvertently sent it
there.)
I have a listbox populated with Objects.
The Class has a String field that ToString returns.
I assume that is what the ListBox uses for its display. Correct?

I have a .net app that a user currently enters a number in a text box,
hits a button and a data call is executed. She wants the ability to
enter in multiple numbers (up to 100).
So to make things look better visually for that, I created a listbox
under the text box. She enters the number in the text box, clicks
another button I added and the number is stored in the list box. Then
my plan was to grab all those numbers from the list box...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
