I have found a strange resource problem, but luckily I have also found the
solution which was not obvious from the runtime exception. I really think
that the compiler should pick up this problem and fix it. What do you people
think? Try the following:
1. Create a new c# windows application called MyTestApp
2. Create a notifyIcon on the form
3. Attach any icon you wish to the notifyIcon
4. Build and run the program to confirm that it...

OK, for a number of reasons I have needed to begin experimenting with
resources sooner than I had planned (I had avoided it for now).
Step 1: I built the 'reseditor' application that is in the SDK
sub-directory, as instructed by the MSDN.
Step 2: I used the 'reseditor' to create a file named
"MyResources.resources" that contains only some string resources.
Step 3: I added this resource file to my existing test assembly (does not do

Hi there,
Well I managed to compile by satellite dll's but still can't get it to work.
It keeps throwing the following error. (see below)
My code is ok I think but there must be something wrong, I have compiled a
satellite dll and placed it in the es which is for spain under the bin.
I have also include a MyResources.resx into the VS.net for the neutral
language.

I have a Windows Form control that I have embedded in an ASP.NET page.
I now have the need to catch an event from the control on the webpage.
After researching the situation I found that this is the way to expose
events. I added the following code to my class.
Imports System.IO
Imports Assetta.ColumnStyles
Imports ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip.Compression
Imports ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip.Compression.Streams

I have a windows solutions containing three forms. All works fine until I customize a form's Icon property. The icon displays fine in the IDE but if I try to run the application it throws "System.Resources.MissingManifestResourceException" before the main from is displayed. I've looked in the corresponding resx file and there is an entry for the icon. Why am I getting this problem and more importantly how do I fix it
thanks,

I create a simple DATAADAPTER in a webservice project. It creates the
UPDATE, INSERT, DELETE commands for me - no problem.
In vS2005 it creates these commands as RESOURCES in the RESX file (i.e.
strings). The problem is whenever I try to test the webservice I get:
System.Resources.MissingManifestResourceException: Could not find any
resources appropriate for the specified culture or the neutral culture. Make
sure...

I am using satelite assemblies to create a multilanguage application
using VB .NET. Whenever I try to access a resource within those
assemblies that does not exist, a MissingManifestResourceException
occuers. I cannot find any function of the ResourceManager to check
for existing resources, to prevent those exceptions. Is there another
way to handle this, except using try catch?
Best regards,
Stefan

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
