I'm open for any suggestions on how to better program this. I want the user
to select a license from a combo box, cboPrivilege and then the user will
click the add button, then a record will be added to the data grid.
My current code is coming up with errors, dt and drv are unknown in the else
part of the if statement.
if (this.dgPrivileges.DataSource == null)

I am encountering a problem with the combo box. This
only happens when using the datasource property, I create
a table with the following values (a, b, c, d).
Step 1. Select the "c" value from the drop down list by
typing "c" into the combo box. Then click off from the
combo to say a button. Have the button populate a text
box with the combo boxes text property.
Result = "a"
Step 2. Repeat step 1, but type in "b" this time.

I'm observing some strange behavior when I use a bound combo box in conjunction with
the combo's anchor property. I define a form which contains just a textbox and a
combo box. The text box is placed before the combo in taborder, and is there only so
the focus will go someplace other than the combo box when the form is displayed.
In the form load event, I have the following code to create an arraylist and bind the
combo to it:
Dim a As...

Here's an example of the code.. I have two combo boxes on screen that when
one's selection is change the other's items will be updated to reflect the
change (based on a relation)

' Fill Line Of Business
'
cmd_selectCommand.CommandText = "BENESP_GetLinesOfBusiness"
da_formData.FillSchema(ds_formData, SchemaType.Source, "LinesOfBusiness")

I have a dataset whose source is a SQL 2k stored procedure that I am trying
to display in a datagrid. This datasource has 4 columns that I am
interested in here, a text column and 3 value columns corresponding to
permissions to certain data classes. I want to put the permission values in
combo boxes in the grid and instead of displaying the numeric values, have
the combo box display a string that corresponds to the numeric value (i.e.
No...

I have created a form which sets up a dataview. The form views one
record at a time using a currencymanager. This works fine. All my
text boxes bind.
However I have a combo box which gets its lookup values from another
(Advertising) table (AdvertisingID, Advertising). This works
.. However, where it doesn't work as well is when the form
loads, the combo boxes should bind to the AdvertisingID field and
display the respective data.

Hi all,
Could you tell me the best way to add a blank item(as first item) in a data
binded combo box? Because I think I didn't do it right and it generate an
error if the second item(after the top blank item) is selected by using
Combo.SelectedValue :
"Specified argument was out of the range of valid values.
Parameter name: '-2147483648' is not a valid value for 'index'.

How Would you implement this?
I have an existing Access application that needs to be converted to .net
I am restricted to use the existing database design.
One of the areas is a timesheet data entry screen.
The existing Access app writes to a table (tblTimesheetHours). In the data
entry screen, the fields, like employee name, job, etc are bound to combo

I have created a sub routine to programmatically add an indefinite number of
combo boxes to a form. The combo boxes are bound in code to a view for
displaying the available options. This routine works good until you add the
second combo box. At that point it changes the first combo box's selected
item. A third changes the second and first and so on. I've tried setting
the combo box name and tag to a unique name, but that doesn't help. ...

I have a form which is bound to a dataset. I am filling the forms dataset on Form_Load event.
On my form I have combo boxes which I am setting by running a stored procedure to return a datatable, which I then assign to the datasource.
Some of my combo box datasources depend on values in other fields to limit the options.
For example, I have a sales rep list that is limited by the customer selected in the customers combo box.
And...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
