Hello,
We are having a recurring problem of a typed dataset that
we have in a form dissapearing from the VS designer and
all bindings being lost. The dataset is defined in
another component and we reference that component, and
use the dataset designer tool to simply create the
dataset variable on the form. Every so often though,
with no apparent pattern, we loose the dataset from the
designer with the bindings. The variables are still

Hi all,
I apologize for posting this question on two groups. I did not know
which one out of "XML" and "ADONET" groups, should I post this.
I would like to create an xsd file out of an existing dataset.cs file
that can be visually manipulated in the VS.NET Dataset Designer wizard
in VS.NET 2003 with .NET 1.1 and C#.
Here is the issue in more detail:

Hello,
How come when I add a new row to my dataset table it shows up as changed
(agencyData.Haschanges() = True) but when I delete a row the dataset thinks
here are no changes(agencyData.Haschanges() = False)????
The bizaar thing is the row count before the delete and after is different
so it definately is being deleted but I cannot update my main database table
because the dataset thinks there are no changes?

Using VB.Net and ADO:
I've created a public variable on my main form and set it to = a dataset
which was crrated with the designer. I have another form with a datagrid on
it. In the designer, I can't set the datasource property to the dataset on
the main form, although i can do it in code.
Can someone tell me how to declare a dataset, either in a form or module,
that I can use globally throughout my application, including in the...

I've been using the dataset designer in Visual Studio to create typed
datasets for my application by dragging over tables from the Server Explorer
and dropping them into the designer. The problem is, when I modify these
tables in SQL Server (typically adding fields and what not), there doesnt
seem to be an easy way to update the typed dataset. If I delete the
previous table definition and drop a new one on, all of the relationships
are...

I have jumped in to the deep end of the pool, trying out visual inheritance
of a form and have run into a snag.
I have the need to create a simple maintenance form for five identically
configured database files. (The only difference in the tables is their name
and keyfield name.) Hmmm, I though, a perfect candidate for trying our
Visual Inheritance for the first time. ARGHHHHHHH! What have I gotten
myself into?
Here's the...

In an 2.0 asp app I used vs.net 2005 to create a TableAdapter:Dataset in my
App_code directory. I also created a new vb class in that same directory.
I have two issues:
1.
I notice that there are errors in the xml code for the dataset...
<TableAdapter BaseClass="system.ComponentModel.Component"
DataAccessorModifier...
the DataAccessorModifier is underlined as an error - if I hover over it, it
says that attribute is not declared. ...

Hi All,
I'm New to VS.net. Trying to figure out this new dataset thingy.
Ok so I add a dataadapter with all the correct properties for a table. Then
generate the dataset. Now open the dataset and drag another table from the
server explorer, set up some relations there. Set up two grids, one a s a
parent one as a chgild. Fill the dataset, run the form
But my child grid never gets any records.
I then added another datadapter for the child...

Can someone point me in the right direction? Somewhere I read that you
reference a strongly typed dataset as if it were a class structure. For
example,
<SomeTests>
<TestsGroups>
<Group>
<TestName>TestA</TestNmae>
<Test>Run1</Test>
<Test>Run2</Test>

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
