DatagridView Error on insert in Autonumber field using wizard

I have a table with 3 fields of which the primary key is a autonumber. I have
created my dataadapter, dataset and datagridview using a wizard. However, in
the datagrid, the update and delete operation work but the Insert will not
work. I know I to make changes to code but it does not seem to work. portion
of the error reads:

The following exception occurred in the DataGridView:
System.Data.NoN ullAllowedExcep tion: Column 'ID' does not allow nulls at
System.Data.Dat aColumn.CheckNu llable(DataRow row) at
System.Data.Dat aTable.RaiseRow Changing(DataRo wChangeEventArg s args, DataRow
eRow, DataRowAction eAction, Boolean fireEvent)
.....
.....
.....
System.Windows. Forms.DataGridV iew.DatGridView DataConnection. OnRowValidating (DataGridViewCe ll CancelEventArgs e)

I have a form that a person enters some information on. They then clicka button that triggers VBA to perfom a SQL INSERT INTO query. One of the fields auto assignes the current date. Another field pulls the users name from an api function. On the form both fields display correctly. The INSERT INTO statment goes as sfollows: INSERT INTO tblServiceOrders ( All the fields are here) VALUES (#" &

Hey folks - I have some VBA code for creating a row and related sub-rows from a 'wizard' form. I'm using sql 'INSERT' statements to create the rows. My problem is that I need to get the autonumber id field from the parent table to properly insert the rows in the subtable. PHP has a function for MySQL called mysql_last_id(). Is there something similar in VBA?

We're starting to use Oracle for the back-end instead of a separate Access .mdb file for the data and everything as gone surprisingly well so far. We are learning Oracle as we go; Yikes! But we have very patient DBA's at the main office to answer newbie questions. Using Access 2002 with linked ODBC tables to Oracle 9 (9i? not sure), ODBC driver is SQORA32.DLL, verson 9.02.00.00. My "Error 3167: Record is deleted" comes when I use...

Suppose, in a multi-user environment, you have append query SQL in a VBA procedure that looks like INSERT INTO MyTable... and the next line reads MyVar=DMax("","MyTable... You can never be certain that MyVar will be set to the key-field value that was created when the Append query ran. Now, there are other ways to do it - I know - that will ensure you 'nab' the correct record. But I was wondering

Hi, Is there an "easy" way to write a full record (all fields) using "INSERT INTO..." into a table which has an AutoNumber field? Normally, to write a full new record I would use: INSERT INTO VALUES (Value1, Value2, ...); If (say) the first field (Value1) is an AutoNumber, what value can you put that will preserve the auto-increment function?

Needing to import and parse data from a large PDF file into an Access 2002 table: I start by converted the PDF file to a html file. Then I read this html text file, line by line, into a table using a code loop and an INSERT INTO query. About 800,000 records of raw text. Later, I can then loop through and parse these 800,000 strings into usable data using more code. The problem I have is that the conversion of the text file, using a...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
