I posted this request for help in Visio, troubleshooting
newsgroup and Installation newsgroup, about 1,5 months ago
but without result.
"I recently installed Visio .NET Enterprise Architect 2003
along with .NET Enterprise Architect 2003. This seems to
have been a mistake as I can no longer open Visio. When I
try to open Visio I get a progress bar saying "Please wait
while visio updates it's directory cache" Then I get a
message box...

I have Enterprise Architect VS 2002 AND Enterprise Architect VS 2003
installed. The problem is visio has married itelf to the 2002 version. How
do you switch it to the VS 2003 install? I've uninstalled and reinstalled
visio and it only shows up on the VS 2002 menu?

Hi,
A bit off topic, but still... I am writing a project in c# (MS .NET).
There is this nice featrure called 'Reverse Engineer' which allows me to
import all data about my c# classes to the visio project. Then I draw my
diagrams etc. Some time later I add something to my c# project and it seems
to me that there is no way I can import the new classes other than type them
manually?! Is this true, or I am doing sth wrong (if so, what?)

I'm using Visio Enterprise Architect to re-engineer a class diagram from a
VS.NET project. My two questions:
1. Is there a way to re-engineer just the class names without all the
methods and fields? I'd like to avoid having to manaully delete all the
methods/fields/etc.
2. Is there a way to have the classes be displayed graphically be default
with their relationships? (I realize this conflicts with my first
question.) Currently...

Hi,
I'm involved in the early part of a big-time project with a number of
developers. In the past, we have used Visio and UML to model our classes
and then used the code generator to spit out the code. There were mixed
feelings about using it.
I guess my question is how many people use Visio to generate the simple
object classes? Is this something you would recommend, or is there
something different you would suggest? If worse...

Hi,
I used to modelize my DB with Visio for Enterprise Architect (shipped with
VS 2003) in order to generate the DB and keep nice loooking shemas.
I tried the new SQL Server 2005 and Visio for EA shipped with VS 2005, but I
was not able to modelize for 2005, but only for 2000 (talbes are not rigth
reversed engeenered, updates in the model are not well applied, and so on).
Is there anything I missed ?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
