any proposal for an interesting master thesis ?

Hey!

If anyone found any interesting title of master thesis from any areas
as:.NET, webservices, biztalk...
ANY suggestions would be nice to read. It can be implementation,
integration or whatever... It's now up to me to choose the title of my
master thesis so I ask wise people:)

cheers, Lukasz

Here is a pre-PEP for what I call "suite-based keyword arguments". The mechanism described here is intended to act as a complement to thunks. Please let me know what you think. Suite-Based Keyword Arguments ----------------------------- Passing complicated arguments to functions is currently awkward in Python. For example, the typical way to define a class property winds up polluting the class's namespace with the property's get/set...

What would people think about adding sys to __builtins__ so that "import sys" is no longer necessary? This is something I must add to every script I write that's not a one-liner since they have this idiom at the bottom: if __name__ == "__main__": sys.exit(main(sys.argv)) Additionally, the necessity of "import sys" makes some one-liners a little more unwieldy than they should be--it is surely the module I am

Dear community, for some reason the post I sent yesterday night still did not show up on the mailing lists. I have set up some links on the developers side under http://developer.postgresql.org/~wieck/slony1.html The concept will be the base for some of my work as a Software Engineer here at Afilias USA INC. in the near future. Afilias is like many of you in need of reliable and performant replication solutions for backup and failover...

Alright, so I've been following some of the arguments about enhancing parallelism in python, and I've kind of been struck by how hard things still are. It seems like what we really need is a more pythonic approach. One thing I've been seeing suggested a lot lately is that running jobs in separate processes, to make it easy to use the latest multiprocessor machines. Makes a lot of sense to me, those processors are going to be more and...

We are two students from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden (http://www.kth.se/eng/). We are currently doing our masters thesis in Applied Information Technology where we specialize in security. As a part of this thesis we will do a survey where we compare general information about software organizations and software projects with certain aspects and activities specific for the creation of secure software. We would...

Hello there, I am student of CS at the University of Warsaw, currently 4th year. I am attending Object Oriented Programming seminar and it is about time, I started looking for an idea of my master's degree project. As I like Python very much, I would like to do something with this language, yet I don't know if there are any needs/science fields, that could be used as a basis for a thesis. Therefore I would like to ask, if there is any...

C/C++ language proposal: Change the 'case expression' from "integral constant-expression" to "integral expression" The C++ Standard (ISO/IEC 14882, Second edition, 2003-10-15) says under 6.4.2(2) : case constant-expression : I propose that the case expression of the switch statement be changed from "integral constant-expression" to "integral expression".

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
