I'm completely new to ASP.Net 2.0 and I'm baffled about what to do to
get this to work.
FYI, I'm not new at this, I've used asp.net 1.1 for allmost 4 years
now.
I'm running a development machine running Team Foundation Server,
VS.net 2005 Team Suite and SQL Server 2005, all freshly installed and
working (all final, no betas).
I've built my first website and, having worked with sharepoint for

VS.net installs sql express as datastore for role/membership management.
I don't like this! I'm not able to choose other databases like ms-access, in
the Web Site Administration Tool . (Only AspNetSqlProvider)
I've tryed some c# stuff, but id did not work for me, to much trouble. I
wish to work with vb.net anyway.
Is there a tool/programm or something with less trouble, so i can choose
from different providers in the Web Site...

Hey everyone
I'm having a great deal of problems finding this information through google
and yahoo, so I turn to you on this.
I have a Windows app running on XP. I am able to caputre the user's Name
property in the WindowsPrincipal's IIdentity interface.
Where can I find the role that the user is assigned for the current login?
I only want the one role which is assigned for the current user, not all of

I'd like to take advantage of the role management classes in 2.0 to allow my
users to give other users access to their data. For this reason I'd like to
create new roles on-the-fly without having to hard-code them in web.config.
Can I do this by calling Roles.CreateRole?
If yes, how does this wok together with roles defined in web.config?
If no, how can I accomplish the above functionality?

I'm in the concept stage of putting together a web application.
Certain featues will be available only if the person has been given
access. This is based on their particular subscription. I can create
database tables that have an entry for each user and the features they
have access to. The logic that decides whether the feature should be
diplayed or not (reading values from tables) will be at the .NET class
level.
I want to make...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
