This is an issue which is known for some time. Unfortunately, I'm
unaware of a fix for this. When I run into it, I close the code files
and re-open them in the editor which generally solves the issue.

I have been fighting through my first crystal report in VS2003.NET and have made some headway. Here is what I've done: 1. Created a crystal report in VS2003 from a SQL stored procedure with parameters through the GUI. 2. Finally got past the logon failure error to display the report using the viewer. I assume that default parameters are being used since it does display some data and the SP won't run without being passed some values.

Hello board, I just started looking into C# - programming and find it quite applicable for very rapid development scenarios. But the handy support that the IDE provides has now run me into problems with localization. I started out very simple with a form called MainForm that is displayed but disabled. This form immediately starts a second form called "LoginDialog" which contains the usual labels, textBoxes and buttons. It connects to a...

Hello everybody, I put this in a separate thread because altough it is connected to the localization-problem in my former thread this is a completely different "joke" of the IDE. While waiting for some hint on how to include my own ressources in IDE-generated satellite-assemblies (because there can only be on assembly per each language) I decided to try to use the XML-editor for the IDE-generated .resx-files again. I noticed that the...

Hi, I downloaded a C# project from Internet and unzipped the project to a directory in my local machine, in IIS console I setp up a virtual directory, the project seems to work fine because I can use IE to browse the ASPX pages. But when I tried to use VS2003 to connect to this project by "Open Projects From Web", no go. Do I have to do something else for VS2003 to connect?

I currently have VS2003 .net 1.1 installed with a number of 1.1 projects built in it. All of these projects create the /bin dll for deployment and have been running on remote servers that have the 1.1 framework installed. If I install Visual Web Developer Express Edition 2005 on my machine, it will install the .net 2.0 framework. When I go back and open up the 1.1 projects in VS2003 and deploy them again creating the /bin dll, will they...

Hello, I see that VS2005 and the new framework 2.0 is out to the public now. Wondering about some things. When you install the new framework 2.0 can a person still use visual studio 2003 or do you need to use Visual Studio 2005? If you can use the new framework 2.0 with VS2003 are there any benifits?

I'm not sure if this is a bug being caused by visual studio, or by the vb compiler itself. I have good size solution (33 projects) and am consistently having a problem with one project.. Basically everytime I build, I get the compiler error bc30456...which is basically that some local variable is not declared. However, the variable is declared...and basically if I change its declaration from private to protected the project will...

Hi to all I'm askyng you a suggestion about the best way to share the same source code between VS2003 and VS2005. The project I'm developing is a controls and components library, and the Solution.sln includes a standard WindowsForms application for testing pourposes. What I need is an efficient and reliable way to edit and test the DLL assembly in both environments, since the library will be distributed for Framework 1.1 and 2.0.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
