I've got an asp page that populates a listbox with info from a db.
The list box ends up being pretty big, so I want to be able to search
it effectively. I like the method wherein the user types the letters
of the word they are looking for from within the listbox and the
control automatically scrolls to the item matching the chars they have
typed thus far.

Hello,
I added in my (MSI) installer project an advertisable shortcut, that
automatically repairs the installation when something is corrupted. It would
be more fine to have a normal shortcut, but I understood that this is not
possible without using Orca.
My installation project contains a custom action to start the application
after installation. However, now when I start the application with the
advertisable shortcut (and there is...

Since I have seen Tony T. around the last week I thought I'll try once more ;-)
Hi all,
I still have clients with apps running on Access 2.0
It would be nice if I could use the Auto FE Utility for at least one of them
Anybody tried the Auto FE Utility from Tony Toews with Access 2.0 ?
What's wrong:
Access 2.0 starts allright, but with messagebox Can't find "xxx.mdb"

Hi,
the application I am writing has a MainMenu and a DataGrid
(UltraGrid).
Now I have to edit the text of each cell in this grid. So far so good.
All works fine in editmode but if I press a key which is also a
shortcut it doesn´t work and the menuitem-clickevent will be
performed.

I'm currently using the old appudater util from asp.net, however this is very
similar to the updater application block offered by microsoft. Basically, I
set up a folder structure using a setup and deployment project that mimics
the folder version setup of the update block. Then i install the program and
the basic idea is that any msi will automatically update to our version on
the server (since it installs to a directory with the appstart...

Here's my newbie question:
I have several VB forms which are all inherit a standard template form
that I made. In my template form, I added a menu bar with some
generic cut, copy, and paste functionality.
I'd like to have the paste button disabled when the clipboard is
empty, but I'm not sure how I should do this. Ideally, I suppose I'd
like to constantly monitor the clipboard for data, (in a thread?) but
I'm not even sure how I'd...

I have an application that I've used click-once deployment to publish out to
a shared network path. From there I installed the app on a few client
machines, including my own. Since then I published a few updates that were
recognized by the app, and the users installed them, so everyone's on the
most current version. A couple of glitches are now showing up.
1. One of my users received a prompt when she opened up the app that there
is a...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Adolph will...
