what do i need to compile for compact framework / mobile devices?

what ms product do i need to buy to compile programs for
the compact framework and mobile devices?

looking at there vs products i only see the architect version. Very
expensive as we only need to compile a sourcecode that we bought from
a vendor. We only need to adjust some small pieces of code
and recompile it.

Hello NG! I've got a short question: Is there a difference of the internal representation of a Hashtable between the Compact Framework and the normal Framework? I've got the suspicion, because when I Serialize the same Object (with a Hashtable in it) on a Computer with the normal .NET Framework and on a mobile Device (which uses the Compact Framework) the byteStream is different!

At design-time the application just decides to go boom claiming it can't find a dll. This occurs sporadically. Doing a simple edit in the HTML for example and then viewing the application has caused the application to go boom. Sometimes the page will compile and run using F5 and others not. So I do the web search tango looking around the blogs and the tuts and determine I should go into Temporary ASP.NET Files and delete the directory...

I've come across numerous mobile phones with which ASP.NET pages can be accessed on the Internet. Then why has Microsoft developed a separate programming model to create ASP.NET apps for mobile devices when regular ASP.NET pages can be accessed from mobile devices? Ron

I need to some sort of data type that will hold a listing of ID's and their counts/frequency. As I do some processing I get an ID back which I need to store and keep an accurate count for how many times that ID is listed. For example I might get a listing of these numbers: 1,4,6,23,6,2,54,1,6,23,2,4,1,6 I will get those numbers one at a time and need to build something like 1,3

Hi I have a web application that shows events on a screen in a showroom so there's only one user. I thought the easiest way to implement a datastore for the events was to use a SqlServer Compact Edition database. I now ended up with this problem 'Unable to find the requested .Net Framework Data Provider. It may not be installed. '

Hi guys...I'm new to mobile development and need your help. I'm trying to make a application that can detect the applications installed on mobile devices. Now I think there are two ways to achieve this: 1) Create a mobile application that can detect the other installed applications. 2) Create a windows/linux application that will first detect the connected phone and then detect the installed applications. Now I think that 1st method...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
