AxSHDocVw.AxWeb Browser prompts for download

I'm trying to use the AxSHDocVw.AxWeb Browser control in a form and when I
call .Navigate, instead of showing the html page, the download prompt shows
up. If I click open, it uses my default browser instead of the control.

If I open an excel doc or a word doc on my local HD, it shows up in the
control after I click open.

Does anyone know what I should check, to get the control opening HTML pages
in itself instead of the default browser?

Try using code like this:

object zero=0;
object nl="";
axWebBrowser1.N avigate("http://www.yahoo.com", ref zero, ref nl, ref nl, ref
nl);

Thanks for the reply. I ended up getting it working by using this version of
AxSHDocVw:

http://www.icsharpcode.net/CodeReade...HDocVw.cs.html

When I used the version created by doing this:

aximp %%SYSTEMROOT%\S ystem32\SHDocVw .dll

I get the behaviour I mentioned earlier.

I'm not sure why :-/

Thanks again for trying to help.

Hi all, Quick question about the AxSHDocVw.AxWebBrowser Component. I was wondering if there is a way to view pages generated internally within my application without writing them to disk. For instance, I'd like to do something like the following: string page = "<HTML><BODY>This is a test.</BODY></HTML>"; And display the page variable's contents in the AxWebBrowser (without

I would like to use a AxSHDocVw.WebBroswer control in a Windows service- is this possible without creating a form? I added the reference I usually use to add this object in a Windows Application but only SHDocVw appears under References in the Solution Explorer. As an alternative, SHDocVw.WebBrowser may work but I am not sure how to add an event handler for it- does anyone know how to add a DocCompleted event for this object?

I am using the AxSHDocVw.AxWebBrowser navigate2() method to launch the login web service for my application. IIS has been configured to require client side certificates. I am using a smart card and choose the appropriate certificate from those that are found on the card. My question is this: Is navigate2() a blocking method? That is, when I make the call to navigate2 with my login service URL and Internet Explorer pops up the PIN...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
