I keep asking myself this question as I write class modules. What's the
best/smartest/most efficient way to send a large object back and forth to a
class module?
For example, say I have a data access module that creates a large
disconnected dataset from a database. I want to pass that dataset back to
the calling program. And then perhaps I want to send that dataset to another
class module.
At first it seems that the "object oriented"...

I bet this question has been asked quite a bit, but if someone can point me
in the right direction, I would be very grateful.
I would like to write a assembly (dll) that one of the functions will act as
a task router. This router will take different objects of many types, and
pass that object to the correct webservice for handling. Seems that doing
this creates quite a bit of serialization issues, especially when the
webservice returns a...

All,
I have quite a challenging task ahead of me. I need to write an object model
(for code access) based on a schema, which cannot be made into a dataset
because of it's complexity.
So I created a couple of objects and serializing it into XML based upon the
schema works perfectly.
The XML / Schema looks something like this:

Thanks.

Good day group!
I have created a nice filtering plugin system, where all filters derive
from a Filter class, and they pass a PictureData object between them.
I have a problem though. I am able to save the filter setup by
serializing the filter chain to a file, and there seems to be no
problems when de-serializing, as the filter chain will seem to
re-generate properly.

Hi
I can create types from dynamic loaaded assemblies (Assembly.Load)
with Assembly.GetTyp( <typename) - OK
I need a reference to the assembly (just Type.GetType() do not work )
now my question.
1) If i need different Types/Objects of the same Assembly in different
app.sections, should I use Assembly.Load() several times or shoud I

i just read this blog about how many objects (types) are loaded for a
hello world program in C#.
http://blogs.msdn.com/abhinaba/archive/2008/09/15/how-many-types-are-loaded-for-hello-world.aspx
how can you find out how many are loaded for a python program: print
'hello'

How valuable is it that class objects behave like built-in types? I
appears that the whole "constructor doesn't return a value because
they are called by the compiler" thing is to enable built-in-like
behavior for objects of class type. That leads to the "necessity" for
the exception machinery so that errors from constructors can be
handled. Is all that complexity worth it just to get built-in-like
behavior from class objects? Maybe a...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
