I am using a TreeView to display the hierarchy of a strongly-typed collection
(inherited from CollectionBase). The order of the nodes in the TreeView is
strictly tied to the order in which they appear in the underlying collection.
However, the user must be able to reorder certain items in the
collection--and, hence, the TreeView.
I have created a context-sensitive menu that allows the user to move an item
in the collection either up or...

I want to have a TreeView that shows an image on some items, but not
all. Basically, if a certain condition is true, a caution icon is
placed next to the treeview item. The problem is that, by adding a
ImageList to the TreeView, the ImageIndex property of the items in the
TreeView defaults to 0. I could put a blank icon in the ImageList and
make it the 0 index image, however, this makes an ugly space.
Would I have to create my own...

I posted this question to comp.lang.javascript but didn't get a
response, so I'll try here.
I am using ASP.NET and I have a datagrid. One of the columns in my
grid is all checkboxes. When the user clicks on a certain button on
the page, which is not in the grid, I want to be able to traverse
through all the checkboxes in that column and see how many are
checked. This is so that I can give them a confirmation dialog before
I do an action...

I have a treeview with a lot of nodes. I want to load only the nodes that are initially visible when the form loads, and then continue to populate it in background and/or when the nodes are required by the user either scrolling or performing some other action that would move the treeview window to a particular "unloaded" node in the treeview
Any advice on how to go about this? It seems I need a way of sensing a scroll event in the treeview...

Hi everybody!
I have a listview and a treeview in a form . With an OpenDialog I let the
user select multiple files and then these files are added to the listview
with the complete pathname, while they are added to the treeview without the
path (only file name). I'd like the user would be able to remove multiple
items selecting filenames from the listview.
So, items should be removed both from the listview and the treeview.
How can I do...

Hello all,
I am populating my treeview with only 1 level of items. Upon opening my
screen, I call the RefreshTreeview routine which populates the treeview just
fine, and I am able to click on nodes in the treeview and populate the
appropriate data accordingly. However, once I add a new record via this
screen and call the same RefreshTreeview routine (which successfully
populates the treeview with the appropriate items including the new...

This code only counts the parent nodes or rootnodes in a treeview,
how do you count all the nodes in a treeview?
// one way
int NodeCounter = 0;
foreach (TreeNode currentNode in TreeView1.Nodes)
NodeCounter++;
// other way
int total = TreeView1.Nodes.Count;

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
