Listview Drag & Drop not functioning on W2k3 server?

Hi all,

I'm developing an application which allows a drag and drop of files
onto a ListView control.

Everything works fine on my Windows XP development computer, but when i
move the application to a Windows 2003 Server, the drag & drop no
longer functions. The mouse cursor changes to the cursor I specify so
i know that the DragEnter event is fine, but when i release, nothing
happens.

It should begin processing the files and adding them to the list
control, but I get nothing.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Andy

Hello, I look at the asp.net 2.0 web parts tutorial on the asp.net web site. I tried to run it under firefox browser but it did not run. If I want to use this feature in a commercial product where the user can run on firefox/mozilla, what would be a good approach. 1. Should I overwrite the javascript code drag-and-drop to make it more browser independent. If I want to go this route, can anybody provide me a

Hi, In VB.NET, how do I determine what filename has been dropped into a ListView? In my ListView's DragEnter() event, I am trying this, which according to the Help, should work: MyFilename = e.Data.GetData("FileName").ToString I have also tried e.Data.GetData(DataFormats.Text) and GetData(System.String)... neither work. I keep getting "System.String" back as the filename.

Hi All, perhaps it is way to early in the morning to do proper coding, but somehow I don't get it. I try to drop a file into a Listview (.view=details), but somehow my tool doesn't let me drop it there, even with option ListView.AllowDrop set to True. I'm doing this the first time in .NET, but used this technique several

I am having problems with drag and drop into a listview. I am able to drag and drop items from within the listview, as well as drag items from the listview and drop into a picturebox. However, I am not able to drag the text or image from the picturebox to the listview. In the listview_dragenter function, I have e.Effects = DragDropEffects.Copy (I have also tried e.Effects = DragDropEffects.Move, but it does not help either), which is...

Hello NG, I try to use drag and drop function between two list views. For this I found following code: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dv_vstechart/html/vbtchimpdragdrop.asp It works fine, but I have another problem. I want to create functionality like a Windows Explorer. This means, if I select some items from list view No 1 and drag&drop this to the list view No 2, then I want to mark automatically

I have had no replies to my previous post so perhaps I didn't write it good enough. Please excuse new thread but i wanted to break from the last thread hopefully this thread will be better. Very simple. I would like to create listviewitem's for display in a listview control. The listview items need to contain properties from Internet Explorer windows i've managed to collect into an arraylist.

I wrote an C# application that uses drag and drop to copy the contents of one ListViewItem to another. I call DoDragDrop() in the ItemDrag event handler, however, the ItemDrag event is being fired when an item in the ListView is clicked to select it instead of being fired when the item is dragged. This is causing a problem when users click on an item and move the moue (after the mouse button has been released) because the app tries to...

I am trying to display a ContextMenuStrip when a user right-clicks on an item in a ListView and have encountered a something that seems strange to me. When the ListView is initially populated, no items are selected. When the first item is selected by clicking either the left or right button, the SelectedIndexChanged event fires but not the MouseUp event. After the first item is selected and another item clicked on, both the...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
