VISIO clobbers code

I used Rational Rose UML for quite some time. When I generated code it
didn't clobber my code. Rose put little markers which stated here you
can put your personal modifications and Rose will preserve them after
regenerating code.

VISIO seems not to put any markers into the code it generates and when
I regenerate the code it clobbers whatever changes I made in the
methods.

Is this something than I can control, like a property to turn on/off in

VISIO, or is it just a permanent feature of VISIO?

I am using VISIO that comes with Visual Studio 2003 Enterprise package.

So it may be a few years old version. Maybe a newer version added the
code regeneration capability?

Comparing Ration Rose to Visio is like comparing a jet plane to a Lexus.
They both can be used to transport people, but other than that they really
aren't similar at all. Among many other differences between Rose and Visio
is the fact that Visio does not round trip between code and diagram.

I converted an asp 1.1 vb.net app using the vs2005 conversion wizard and then retested the app after conversion.

I would like to dynamically create a Visio diagram from .Net. I tried looking at the Visio SDK, but the samples are extremely convoluted for me to understand. Does someone have an example of creating a basic drawing with two shapes connected? I can then expand that example to include other elements. Also, my plan is for this project to be an ASP.Net website. Is Visio required to be on the web server in order to generate the Visio...

I'm writing a project that does Visio automation. I'm writing it in C+ +/CLI because it needs to reference a good amount of native C++ code. One way to call the Visio API, of course, is to use the COM interface provided in Visio SDK. However, a colleague of mine has been using Microsoft.Office.Interop.Visio in his VB.NET project, which is far more convenient than COM. I thought I could do the same in C++/CLI, but it didn't work....

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
