Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Based on MS KB article Q248187 (HOWTO: Impersonate a User from Active
Server Pages), I developed an ActiveX DLL (using VB6.0 Enterprise
SP5), and deployed to a corporate web site under NT Server 4.0 SP6a
/IIS4.0, expressly to retrieve Office documents contained on the
server's DASD, but outside the "view" of the web site, which uses
home-grown ASP session security. Works great!
However, migrating...

I have a DTS package I am kickig off from a C#.Net applcation that imports a
tab delimited text file created by the C# app. I can successfully kick off
the DTS package from my development machine, run the package, and everything
works great.
When I install the app on another machine, it successfully kicks off the DTS
package, but the package fails...

Hi All,
I have COM dll developed in VB.6 that exposes a method to print a word
document. The method accepts the name of the printer and the fully
qualified name of the document to be printed. In the DLL, it loops through
the printers collection to check if the printer name is valid and sets the
requested printer as default printer. Secondly it uses late binding for
Word Application and prints the document on the default printer.

I have a number of services developed in C# (.Net), and they have been
working fine for the most part. Recently someone reported that ipon
occassion (originally rarely, but more frequently on some systems of
late), there is an entry in the Event Log immediately after a boot
indicating that the service failed to start after 30,000 milliseconds.
Usually it starts fine when attempting manually after the boot.
I instrumented the code to...

Currently I am having a problem creating a windows service that
monitors a mapped drive for events (using the FileSystemEventHandler).
The service complies but fails to start:
"The XMLWatcher service on Local Computer started and then stopped.
Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for
example, the Preformance Logs and Alerts service."
The Service has no problem starting if i point the folder to be
monitored to...

I would appreciate your assistance on this ASP.NET 2.0 site....
This is the wierd problem: While accessing the built in .NET functions for
'profiling' or 'membership' an error is generated (see following 2
examples):
---- EXAMPLE 1 --------
OK --> Dim p As New ProfileCommon
OK --> p = Profile.GetProfile(Me.ddlRacer.SelectedItem.Text)
FAILS --> Me.lblDebug.Text = p.FirstName.ToString

I noticed the following issue posted as a double-hop issue in many discussion
boards but found no answers that explain how to pass the second hop
with windows auth from IIS ASPX page to remote SQL Server.
Problem:
--------------
I am trying to create an asp.net website with integrated windows authentication
to access SQL databases. IIS resides on WinXP and SQL Server
on Win2000 SRV. Both are in the same NT Domain. IIS and SQL Server...

We are currently using impersonation with constrained delegation to run a
dual server environment for ASP.NET 2.0 and SQL Server 2005.
Everything is up and running great, however, we have the following issue and
are not sure where to look.
If a user is logged into our Application Server and is inactive for a
certain amount of time (to be determined) the connection to the Application
Server is still authenticated because it will serve...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
