I started with Python two weeks ago and already saved some time and
efforts while writing 2 programs:
1. database extraction and backup tool, which runs once a month and
creates a snapshot of important data, compresses and saves it.
2. pop3 "watchdog", which reads e-mail from a pop3 mailbox and in the
case there is no mail sends e-mail messages to technicians. (the
presence of e-mail in the mailbox tells that the system I'm monitoring...

I'm working on XP IIS5.1 in classic ASP 3.0
After the installation of the 2005 Express Suite and the beta .net2
framework that ships with it
(http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/express/vwd/) the debugging with
classic ASP has an odd behaviour.
I use option explicit on all pages
When the parser finds an undeclared var or function or there is some
error in a stored procedure (not in the ASP page but in the SP itself)
I receive no error...

I am creating 10 threads that do ecatly the same thing. I am having a very
hard time debugging this scenario. It seems that by default when you are
doing f10 or f11 all threads execute. You can see that by watching the
thread window. When you freeze all threads but the one you are working on
it then does not do anything.
So does anybody have any experience debugging multithreaded apps in C# and
could they share the best...

Hello,
I recently downloaded 'Microsoft Visual C# 2005 Express Edition Beta'.
It's been brilliant, but I couldn't help wondering what more you get
when you buy 'Visual Studio .NET'. There must be some considerable
advantages of using it considering its price.
So I'm asking you what 'Visual Studio .NET' has, that 'Microsoft Visual
C# 2005 Express Edition Beta' doesn't have (apart from the fact 'Visual
Studio .NET' allows you to program...

Hi
I installed .NET 2005 express edition, and am about to unnistall it again
because it can't seem to be able to even insert a resource file into a
project. Can anyone tell me is this right? Should it be able to?
I know it's express edition, and therefore limited functionality, but surely
resources are quite fundamental?
Also, once it's downloaded, is there any way of getting access to the fully
downloaded file incase you want to...

Hi,
how can I debug multithreaded apps in the express version? There is no
threads window. I press Break, but I always see the same thread. But I want
to debug the other thread that I started. How can I switch to the other
thread?

Visual C#.NET 2005 express has some issues, unlike VB.NET 2005 has
none of them:
The most annoying one is:
For example if there's a coding error, it must be reported at the
buttom of the screen in "error list" "REAL-TIME". At least, that was
like that in VB.NET 2005 express. But in Visual C# .NET 2005 you won't
be able to aware of coding errors till you press "play" build & run
button.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
