The problem is that when the SelectedIndex is changed, it posts back the
page. It does not however fire the OnSelectedIndexChanged event, and it
does NOT keep the state of the item that was selected in the DDL.
DropDownList looks like this:
<asp:dropdownlist id="DropDown" Runat="server"
AutoPostBack="True"></asp:dropdownlist>
The EventHandler Setup looks like this:
private void InitializeComponent()

Hello!
I have a problem with SQLSession state on my ASP.NET pages.
SQLSession state behaves very different from InProcess session state,
which I think is very bad.
I can understand some of the differences, e.g that every object you
store in SQLSession state have to be serializable, but other
differences are very unfortunate.

Hi,
I recently read an article on MSDN about viewstate and postback.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnaspp/html/viewstate.asp
The author states the following:
"It is a common misconception among developers that view state is somehow
responsible for having TextBoxes, CheckBoxes, DropDownLists, and other Web
controls remember their values across postback. This is not the case, as the
values are...

I'm trying to override the SHIFT-SPACE "negative feature" in the Winforms
datagrid, to only be a space.
The following link describes this:
http://www.dotnet247.com/247reference/msgs/52/262224.aspx
In this procedure, MS suggested to use SendKeys.Send(" "), but I am finding
that this locks my machine, and SendWait() causes an infinite loop of
messages (stack overflow). How to convert a SHIFT-SPACE message to be just
a SPACE? Below is...

Hi,
What is the fastest way to evaluate manually the result in this case:
int a, b, c;
a = 255;
b = 122;
c = a & b;
The only way I know is transforming each number into the binary value and

I'm trying to create a login box control to use that simply exposes the
username, password and remember me properties when the login button is
clicked. I have the button click wired up and working and at one time,
the username was holding state. I don't know what I changed, but now
nothing holds state. I've read a number of messages about making sure
that the controls are added to the control collection during
CreateChildControls, which...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
