Here's a type of query I'm always having trouble with. There are 4 fields
in a web access log table.
User | Date | Time | Destination
I want to show all the instances of a user hitting a particular web site,
but I only want a single entry to represent that visit (not the 10 or 15
that represent every graphic that was obtained from the page as is typical
with imported web logs).

I'm using Forms authentication with my user data in a SQL db. I have pages
in the main appliaction folder accessible to anonymous users and I've set
security to deny annonymous users access to pages in several sub folders
(e.g. admin). I've set up a login page where users trying to access any
/admin/ page are diverted to and on successful login they are redirected
back to the page they requested.
All is well. Everything works.

Hi all
I have an issue whereby I have a form which is split up into three
different panels on the same page. However, as I requirment the IIS
logs must record the three different stages of the form for analysis
purposes.
Therefore, I have been looking at ways in which I can write to the IIS
logs file to append a record for each stage of the form. Can anyway
advise me of the best way to achieve this?

Hi,
We are in the process of setting my mysql replication on mysql ver
4.1.18. However we have noticed an odd bug that occurs every so often.
Every hour we issue flush logs to mysql so that we can move the bin
logs to our backup server. In our mysql logs we notice the following;
060526 12:00:02 Failed to open log (file
'/srv/backup/mysql/mysql-bin.000068', errno 2)

Hello all,
I'm using ASP.Net 2.0 to create a small web application that uses forms
authentication. Currently, when a user logs out, a ReturnUrl is set in
the QueryString. However, if at the login screen, I try to login as a
different user, it still tries to send me back the ReturnUrl. The
desired behavior would be that the login screen always sends the user
to the DestinationPageUrl, regardless if the ReturnUrl is in the query...

Hi all,
I've apparently tied myself up a bit using the logging package.
In my project, I have a core set of model and controller classes that
set up their logging using logging.fileConfig(). So far, so good.
But I use these core classes from a bunch of different places.
Sometimes from within a CherryPy server, sometimes batch jobs run from
a command line, sometimes from Windows services (also written in

Hi, I know just about nothing about SQL Server. I am getting this error:
The log file for database 'my_database' is full. Back up the transaction log
for the database to free up some log space.
I can't access the transaction logs to back them up. I am told that my ISP's
tech support should have it set up to shrink those logs automatically every
so often. Is that true?

Is there a command line switch available for the EventViewer which will allow
me to specify which directory to view the available logs from?
I will have multiple workstations writing to a mirrored set of really large
flash drives. The workstations will write to their specific standard .evt
files. I need to be able to start EventViewer and specify which
workstations's logs to go view at startup.
Is this possible w/o creating my own...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
