Can someone explain to me the difference between these two bindings?
dim b as Binding
b=New Binding(dsMyDataset.tblMyTable, "colMyColumn")
b=New Binding(dsMyDataset, "tblMyTable.colMyColumn")
They produce different behavior in my application. I know which one I must
use, but I don't understand why.

I have tried using Databinding for my application but always seem to find it
very restrictive (maybe I don't completely understand it enough). I always
seem to find it much easier to display a form, have the user fill it out then
put the data into a class representing a data row and then use the OLEadaptor
or OLECommands to update the database.
My question is has anyone really used databinding in anything but the
simpliest application...

Am I right in thinking that databinding only really takes effect when a
control is made visible? The reason I ask is that the application I'm
working on consists of a collection of Panels, each of which shows
nothing but a "please wait" message until the business service it
depends on returns. When it has returned it fills in the panel's
controls, and they each make a note of their initial values (so that
the form can tell if any...

L.S.,
Hello is there a way to implement 2-way databinding without using the
datasources from dotnet 2.0. Why would you ask? Now that's simple.
I've created an object model with BusinessObjects and I don't want to write
an separate provider layer for the datasources. This is because I loose all
the benefits of my objectmodel.
Are there other developers who think this way?

Hi,
I am struggling with two way databinding in WinForms and the DataGridView.
I am binding to business object classes (rather than datatables). If I
have a collection of these business objects that is the datasource of a
DataBinding that is bound to a DataGridView (WinForms) then I was expecting
that any change to the data would be reflected in the DataGridView (in other
words I was expecting the 2 way databinding to actually...

Is there a good tutorial of getting databinding working with NHibernate
collections such as bags with lazy loading. I can access the collection
programaticly, but not directly with databinding.

Hello !
My question is about the Two-Way DataBinding in Win Forms VS.2005 (C# or
VB.Net). I mean the process when the value was updated in the control
and this change must be reflected in the datasource, and vitce versa.....Can
someone give me some links about this issue, because I found a lot of info
but only about Web Forms, and about complex data binding in Win Forms but
about two-way databinding - nothing....
I'll be very...

I have seen the solution about the reportviewer VB.Net 2005 but I have some question to ask you.
Private Sub btnClientTest_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As
System.EventArgs) Handles btnClientTest.Click
Me.ReportViewer1.Reset()
Me.ReportViewer1.ProcessingMode =
Microsoft.Reporting.WinForms.ProcessingMode.Local
Dim newds As New

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
