There is a DTS object model ( COM object ) that can be used.

It allows you to create and execute DTS packages from c#, vb etc

The software is contained on the Sql CD and is also installed when you
install the Sql Client tools.

Hi all, I'm pretty new to the python language so please excuse me if this is FAQ... I'm very glad to be part of the list! :-) I'm looking into a way to implement a generic workflow framework with python. The basic idea is to use python scripts as the way to specify workflow behavior. The framework should not only use scripts as a specification language but is going to leverage on python interpreter for the execution of the scripts. One...

I've been playing around with Zope's RestrictedPython, and I think I'm on the way to making the modifications necessary to create a capabilities-based restricted execution system. The idea is to strip out any part of RestrictedPython that's not necessary for doing capabilities and do all security using just capabilities. The basic idea behind capabilities is that you don't give any piece of code you don't trust a reference to something...

The osdl-dbt3 test starts with building and vacuuming the database. The execution plans were taken after the vacuuming. I did two tests with the same database parameters: 1. run two osdl-dbt3 runs on one box without rebooting the stystem. Though the execution plans are the same, the costs are different. The system status are different for the two runs, for example, some page cache are not released after the first one. Does that make...

Hi there, lately, I experienced a strange thing on my DB2 V8.1 on Windows: Some queries took a very long time. A snapshot discovered the following: Number of executions = 47 Number of compilations = 1 Worst preparation time (ms) = 2 Best preparation time (ms) = 2 Internal rows deleted = 0

I have been programming in C for about a year now. It sounds silly, but I never took the time to question why a C(or C++ or Java) program execution begins only at the main(). Is it a convention or is there some deeper underlying reason?

Hi NG, does IBM Universal Database 8.2 make any difference between actual and estimated execution plans like in SQL Server ("set showplan_all on" for estimated execution plan and "set statistics profile on" for actual execution plan)? Does "explain plan selection for" generate the *estimated* execution plan? Didn't find any distinction of actual or estimated execution plans in the information center. Thanks for help,

Hi, I'm facing the problem of analyzing a memory allocation dynamic and object creation dynamics of a very big C++ application with a goal of optimizing its performance and eventually also identifying memory leaks. The application in question is the Mozilla Web Browser. I also have had similar tasks before in the compiler construction area. And it is easy to come up with many more examples, where such kind of statistics can be very...

I'm trying to get the execution plan for a single stored procedure from Profiler. Now, I've isolated the procedure but I get all execution plans. Any ideas on how to connect the SPIDs so that I only get the execution plan for the procedure I'm watching and not the whole of the server?

I run a batch file, which is nothing but a make file of my project. It also does linting for me. Hence the execution of the batch file in the DOS window can be seen, which is very huge(i have around 2000 .c files in the project) Here i need to log the execution of the batch file in a .txt file so that i can analyse the details of the execution. The execution is so huge that i loose most of the execution-data from

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
