I am trying to make a transparent pictureBox. MSDN says to use
this.SetStyle(ControlStyles.SupportsTransparentBackColor, true); for the
form
and this.pictureBox1.BackColor = Color.Transparent; for the pictureBox
I does not seem to work. I have put this pictureBox on top of another one,
but its background is gray and it blocks the image. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

I have a picturebox in my About form.
would like to have a link to my company website. Wanted the links
background to be transparent.
It seems that no one knows how to do this.
Have asked many times. VB help says that transparent is possible with a
background image but not above a control. So how can I provide a link (URL)
that is clickable, but transparent, over the picturebox in my about box?

I have a bitmap (32 pixels high, 8192 pixels wide) that contains 255
images, each 32 pixels wide, that I would like to chop up into
individual 32x32 bitmap files. Rather than spending hours in Paint or
Photoshop I would like to do this programmatically. My code below
attempts to load in the original bitmap, crop it at the desired
location, and save it to the correct file. I don't think I'm doing this
right, I tried messing with different...

If I load a PictureBox image from an embedded resource within my application
it works fine but if I load the same image from a file using OpenFileDialog
(as an ImageStream or using the file name) the background color is not masked
out.
Any ideas?

I'm working on a Windows application (VS 2005) that I will need to be
able to select images I've added to a FlowLayoutPannel. I was
attempting to select the various PictureBoxes and noticed that it wasn't
working. Reading through the MSDN to find out why, I ran across the
following:
"The PictureBox is not a selectable control, which means that it cannot
receive input focus."
This obviously puts a damper on the project. Is there any...

Hi everyone, I'm really new to C#.net development, especially for win32 applications. I'm basically making a board game and was wondering if anyone could help me out with this predicament:
I have a dynamically created array based on the size of the Board (13x13 or 19x19). I can make the array fine and position the pictureBoxes over the background, but I want to be able to change the properties of all the pictureBoxes based on a Click event. ...

Coming from VB6 a PictureBox was a container for other controls. This
doesn't seem to be the case with .NET. In light of that can someone comment
on the following....
I'm creating an app that loads a Form to maximum screen size. On the Form I
have a PictureBox control that also maxs out to the screen's full
resolution. I then randomly load images into the PictureBox. What I was
hoping to do is have a Panel inside the PictureBox that...

I am attempting to populate a DataGridView cell with an image. The image is a 32bit png with Alpha Transparency.
I can get this image to display properly in a picturebox or a Listview but in the DataGridView the image loses quality.
I have tried setting various parts of the control to transparent but nothing seems to work. I import the image into resource file and then call it directly.
See the attachment for an example. The top...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
