and I can't delete them. If I close the project, go delete the folders
manually, the items reappear in my project.
Any ideas what this is from? I do not see project settings on the "auto add
all files" type of theme that might have been set??
I was doing some project and directory renaming.
Thanks in advance!

You probably turned on "Show hidden files" option. Those files are always
there. These are files that visual studio uses to build your project. And
it will recreate them every time you rebuild. They are your friends, be
nice to them.

Hi,
I use "defined $r_libs->{$name}" to check first if a key exists in a hash
table. But Perl gives a warning WHENEVER the key exists: "Use of
uninitialized value".
Would u please help to check the script, and let me know the reason? Thanks
in advance.

I have created an application that will dynamically load other DLLs (plugins).
The new plugin is a winform with an embedded IE Browser.
I am wanting to have the form to run in its own thread. This would allow for other
plugins and the main application to be free to do other work. I have written a
little TestDriver for the plugin and am having some difficulty.
If I don't use threads everything works just fine. If I do use threads, upon...

Today I went to compile a solution I've been working on for months. I've
been off most of the last few months, so there's been a gap in the work, but
I did compile it a few times earlier this week.
Today I get a message:
Could not write to output file
'D:\DevelopmentProjects\Enterprise\CustomUtilities\obj\Debug\CustomUtilities
..dll' -- 'The process cannot access the file because it is being used by
another process. '

Firstly, to get msvcrt.lib, install the .NET framework SDK. The version of
msvcrt.lib included there is the exact same one as comes with Visual Studio
..NET 2003.
There are some other things that might be usefull (e.g. the debug version
of msvcrt.lib) but msvcrt.lib is the most usefull thing.
Secondly, install the latest version of the Microsoft Platform SDK.
The "64-bit" compiler will provide versions of undname.exe, nmake.exe,...

Our solution contains multiple projects, such as:

3 library projects that contain Serviced Components
7 library projects that do not contain Servicded Components
Long ago, a previous project member created a file chose to name
"AssemblyCommonInfo.vb" in the SOlution root, and placed a link to this in
every project (except the Web project). In AssemblyCommonInfo, he placed a

So when I build a VB.net application an .exe appears in the BIN folder, in the OBJ\RELEASE folder, the Debug folder - and even a few other places. So which one of these do I ship to a customer - one would think it would be the one in the RELEASE folder - but with MS what is intuitive is not always the case....
So far I've been shipping the one that appears in the BIN folder - and it appears to be exactly the same as the one in the OBJ/RELEASE...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
