System.Drawing Resource

Hi All,

I'm looking for a good paperback resource on the System.Drawing
objects. I'm looking to create graphs and convert graphics from one
type to another. Any Suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks in advance

Hi, In an ASP.Net application I want to convert open create a FileStream object from a System.Drawing.Image - is this possible? I create an instance of an Image object using the FromFile method, then use the GetThumbnailImage method to create a second Image. This second one is the one I want to get a FileStream from, so that I can then use its Handle to use Response.WriteFile to output the thumbnail on my ASP.Net page. Any help would...

I have an interesting quandary. I have developed a program in VB.Net to extract an icon resource from an exe/dll or from an ico file and enumerate its formats (16x16,256 color;32x32,true color;etc.). It reads out the structures all the way down to the ICONIMAGE structures. I have this represented as an array of bytes read from the resource. I am using the unmanaged function CreateIconFromResourceEx to generate an hIcon pointer. I take...

I have a Windows Form control that I have embedded in an ASP.NET page. I now have the need to catch an event from the control on the webpage. After researching the situation I found that this is the way to expose events. I added the following code to my class. Imports System.IO Imports Assetta.ColumnStyles Imports ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip.Compression Imports ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip.Compression.Streams

Hello, I had an earlier post regarding a strange exception I (thought) I was getting in my windows form. I have since been able to trace the problem to a picturebox control on my form. I can reproduce the exception consistently, but it seems to be timing dependent. Here is what happens: I have a subform that I open, load an image from a file into my PictureBox, take some user input, then I hide the

I am creating an imaging service using WIA (Windows Imaging Acquisition). The problem is that I cannot convert a WIA.ImageFile to a System.Drawing.Image to put a timestamp on the image without first saving the file using the wia.imagefile.savefile then loading it again using System.Drawing.Image.FromFile. This seems pretty ineffecient. I have tried coverting it using ctype, but I get an invalid cast exception. Is anyone aware of how to...

I'm trying to use a Web Service to be a Remoting client of an existing ..NET 2.0 server. But I get the following error when I try to use System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Http in my WebService. The same code works fine in a standalone app. I have inspected System.Runtime.Remoting.dll with ildasm, and I can see the ....Channels.Http namespace there. I verified that the virtual directory is configured to use v2.0.50727 (the error message...

Dim objBitmap As New System.Drawing.Bitmap(400, 440) Dim objGraphics As System.Drawing.Graphics objGraphics = System.Drawing.Graphics.FromImage(objBitmap) objGraphics.Clear(Drawing.Color.White)

I am attempting to create icons for controls I have created using VB.NET by using the System.Drawing.ToolboxBitmap attribute. I have managed to do this in C# by specifying the path to the *.ico file, but I have been unable to get any of the overloads to work in VB.NET. I would like to store the *.ico files in a *.resx file so that users do not need anything other than the *.dll, but at the moment I am just trying to get any of the overloads...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
