dataset ReadXml error: input string not in correct format

Hello. I'm getting an error on the XMLRead method of a dataset class. The
error is "Input string was not in a correct format." I've verified that the
xml is valid and the transform of the XML using my XSLT file returns ok. I
bleive the dataset schema is correct too, but is there any way to debug the
schema or the XMLRead method?

XslTransform trans = new XslTransform();
trans.Load(Serv er.MapPath("myt est.xslt"));
XmlUrlResolver resolver = new XmlUrlResolver( );
XmlReader reader = null;
MyDataSetDS dsObjects = new MyDataSetDS();
reader = trans.Transform (data, null, resolver);
dsObjects.ReadX ml(reader);

thank you!
Jake

Hi all, I have a process, where I take a dataset from an SQL call, and need to write an XML file from that dataset. The data set can contain 10's of tables, each with 100's of rows, and I have no way of knowing what the tables are, or what they contain. I am currently using the Dataset.WriteXML method passing an XMLWriter.

I have written a web service in C#, .NET 1.1 which reads a XML file into a dataset. This is just a plain XML file. First I use the Dataset.ReadXmlScheme function and pass the XML file to it. Then I convert data type of one of the column to integer and then I use the Dataset.ReadXml function and pass the same file to it. This works on my machine, but when I run it on a .NET 2.0 machine it thows an exception with message "Input string was...

Hello... I'm a rookie to c#. So let me see if i can expose properly my situation. I developed a stored procedure in sql server 2000 that allows me to construct my dataset in XML format. the sp's output will look something similar to this: <table1 column11="value111" column12="value112" column13="value113" /> <table1 column12="value121" column2="value122" column3="value123" /> <table2 column21="value211" column2="value212"...

I'm trying to validate input from an xml source to a dataset in dotnet2.0. As far as I can see, type errors correctly cause an exception, but values that are the correct type but do not satisify xsd:restriction conditions are ingested without a murmur. Is this a bug or a feature? Very frustrating. Evidence: 1) XML data <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

Hi I'm running into a scenario with a DataSet that has a schema loaded into it, tries to then load data (that matches the schema), and fails with a "Input string was not in a correct format" exception because the decimal field in one of the incoming fields is written in exponential form. I've looked at generating the XML with a fully written decimal value (as opposed to using exponential notation) but that's an issue because right now the...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
