HI xzzy,

WebClient is a class. The using statements lists namespaces so you have
to stop at the last namespace.

using System.Net;
....
WebClient wc = new WebClient();

or

System.Net.WebC lient wc = new System.Web.WebC lient();

without the 'using'.
Well, there is a third and fourth way.

using (System.Net.Web Client wc = new System.Net.WebC lient())
{
// code
}

using System.Net; // the namespace so we can write less in the code

using (WebClient wc = new WebClient()) // this using controls scope
{
// code
}

I am having a problem with the download of web pages via the WebClient.DownloadFile function in the specialized VB.Net 2003 I.E. plug-in I am designing to speed up the work on my latest project. When I edit the web pages in notepad I see a square wherever I normally see a carriage return and a line feed when viewing the source in I.E. I've written a very small ASP.NET page to scrape thousands of pages of content based on database IDs. It loops through a dataset to get the IDs. It worked well in testing but now I am getting an annoying 403 error that causes the script to abort halfway through my download. I am wondering if there is a way in ASP.NET to have my code ignore 403 errors and other network errors, catch the error, and iterate to the next ID in the dataset...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
