I am pretty new to C# so bare with me... The design of my website utilizes tables on every page that look almost identical, save the data they are displaying. I have written the code to create the body of these tables using a DataGrid, so I can dynamically add rows to the table without modifying the HTML. Now, I want to put this DataGrid into a user control that I can include in the HTML code, then control the behavior of that DataGrid...

Hi, Where is a good place on the internet for me to learn about how to use the datagrid. My grid's datasource is a dataset with one table from a DB. I need to know how to perform Edit, Delete and insert for the grid. The books I have are not that detail. I appreciate it someone can point me out to some good reading/learning article. Thanks, Alpha

Although I've been using C# for the last month or so, and accepting out of blind faith the ViewState, I do have some nagging questions about it... can you help verify the following statements? Application is across all sessions. Session is across all pages. ViewState is sort of like Session, but for only one page. <-- Correct statement? Session is stored between page requests, somewhere in mem or IIS files --

Hi all, What is the best way to allow the administrator of the application to select which columns are displayed in a Databound grid in an aspx form. I was thinking of creating a form and display all possible columns with a checkbox. The admin would check the checkboxes for each column they want to display in the grid. My question is where should I save these settings ( in XML or SQL Server?). Also when these settings are changed, how can...

Hi. I have a question. I am developing an application and I have to choose the most suitable control to show records from some database queries, with freedom in customizing control layout and behavior, leaving data read-only. Good examples might be: control showing message list in Microsoft Outlook (or Outlook Express); download-in-progress (or upload-in-progress) control in Emule client; every common XP-style window showing files and...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
