I'm using a third-party tool that takes a DataTable as a parameter. I really
need to pass it a DataView instead. When I try to explicitly cast the
DataView as a DataTable I get an error that they aren't compatible data
types. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to do this?
My last resort is to create a new DataTable object and copy the rows from
the DataView into the DataTable. But this is an ugly hack and I really hope
there is a...

How can I dump a datatable into an Access table (which contais exactly the
same structure)?
Somebody suggested doing this with a dataAdapter. I don't want to run an
Insert query for each record (I assume that if the datatable and the Access
table have the same structure, I can just dump it from one place to the
other). I'd be dumping data to the same Access table several times (append).
Thanks.

I have a filled datatable and I need to copy this data into an Access table
with exactly the same table structure. Can I do this without having to run
an Insert query for every line of the datatable? also, I'll be doing this
several times (I'll have several datatables that will be copied into the
same Access table) so I would have to need to append to the existing Access
table. If the table in Access doesn't need to be created (ie. copy...

I have a datatable with emplcodes and I need to extract, from my Access
table, all records that contain an emplcode included in my datatable. In
other words, I need to do a query that accesses a datatable and an access
table. How can this be done? I can't load the Access table into a datatable;
it's too much data.
Thanks.

Hello,
I have a basic question. I have a DataTable of information without a
database store (it's only in memory). I am looking to somehow query the
DataTable to find out which row(s) satisfy certain criteria and then update
the data in those rows, all without any sort of database access (no
DataAdapters or anything). The table does not have a primary key so I've
been using DataTable.DefaultView.Find to get the index of the row that...

Hi
I have a DataTable with thousands of rows. I want a quick way to insert the
rows into a table in an Access database with the same structure. I have been
using an update command but found it to be very slow i.e. there are about
100,000 rows of data.
Can anybody suggest a quick way to do it?

After reading a tutorial and fiddling, I finally got this to work. I can
now put two tables created with a DataTable class into a DataRelation.
Phew! And it works!
Dim tblSliceInfo As New DataTable("SliceInfo")
Dim tblSliceRatings As New DataTable("SliceRatings")
'.... All the adding datacolumns, datarows, etc. goes here..
DatasetInit.Tables.Add(tblSliceInfo)

I've got a routine that builds a table using different queries, different SQL
Tables, and adding custom fields.
It takes a while to run (20 - 45 seconds) so I wrote a thread to handle the
table population.
Whenever I call the thread, I pass it a structure containing the table and a
few other parameters. The table goes in as a reference, but the other items
are passed normally.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
