I don't think RichTextBox supports vertical text. You can embed a
graphics object that contains vertical text, but it will just be a
picture: the user cannot edit or format the text.

Hello Everyone, Fairly new to c# here and have a question regarding scrollbars, particularly a vertical scrollbar. It looks like my options are restricted for the textbox scrollbars being that I can enable vertical or horizontal scrollbars for the textbox and their wrapping but thats it for modifications of the scrollbar.

Hi, I'm using vs2005, .net 2 for a windows application. I have a richtextbox control on my form that I make it readonly. 1. Do I need to make readonly to be false to append text to it? 2. Even though I chose the Cursor property of the richtextbox to be "No" but when I run the application I can still click on the RTB and got a Ibeam cursor among my text. Is there a way to prevent a user being able to click on the text and get the ibeam...

I don't want to re-invent the wheel and am looking for a simple implementation of a text viewer or RichTextBox in read only mode that allows rapid file positioning within large data files without the time consuming and memory hogging associated with loading the entire file. Using the thumb to get close and then paging and scrolling to get exact placement within the file. Perhaps with only a few pages of data loaded into memory. I...

VB.Net 2005 SP1 Windows Forms Application What's the fastest way to append text to a TextBox? I have an application that monitors data written to text files. It needs to scan some fairly hefty files (typically ~15MB) and scanning the file pulling out the rows I want (typically ~10,000 of them) takes /comfortably/ under three seconds. In normal usage, this application will "follow" the end of these files as they are written to, so it...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
