Am I right in thinking that images with transparent areas (GIFs or
PNGs) should allow clicks to "pass through" to any underlying elements
behind them?
I have had no luck getting this to work in IE or Firefox. I have tried
GIF and PNG with 'binary' transparency and PNG24 with 'alpha'
transparency (obviously the latter won't work in IE without the
AlphaImageLoader trick).

I want to center an image on the screen and have text centered over the
image. What's the best way to do this?
I've been playing with style tags and I can get the stuff to center
automatically OR have the text appear on top of the image. But in the
second case, the image and text aren't centered properly.
Any help is appreciated...

I've been updating some CSS today and got one odd error from the validator
at http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/. Every time I had 'background:
transparent;' (or background-color: transparent;) associated with a
selector, it gave me this error message:
Line : 30 (Level : 1) You have no background-color with your color :

Hi,
I want to position label text so that it always appears centered when
the user re-sizes the browser window.
I tried adding the HTML property text-align="CENTER" to the code,
but ASP.NET doesn't seem to recognize this HTML attribute.

in my app i need to make a RichTextbox control transparent.
i need it to be a like a pane of glass lying on a sheet of paper, where u
can see everything on the sheet of paper not covered by text written on the
glass pane. i need to be able to see the control or form that is underneath
the RichTextbox, and at the same time to be able to write and erase text to
the RichTextbox.
i'm assuming that it is the backcolor that hides what is...

Hi. Does anyone know how to create one effect.
When I choose a text in combobox, a richtextbox gets a new text loaded
to it. But it is not transparent. VB.NET 2005 desn't allow me to do it.
Is any other way to have transparent textbox?

Hey guys, not sure if this is possible with css, but I have a photographic background for a website, and would like to create text that is completely transparent so that the background shows through each letter.
The letters will be contained within a white box. I don't think this is possible (I've tried a couple different ways I can think of) but can anyone let me know definitively?
