DataGrid - select single cell?

Hi
I've managed to make a datagrid so the contents of its cells can't be edited, but is there any way of making the datagrid select one single cell?

Similar to the way in which SQL Query Analyzer's grid does.

I admit I didn't fully understand the question, but I bet the answer is
somewhere in this FAQ:
http://www.syncfusion.com/FAQ/WinForms/

And no, I don't work for them

No, I've already come to the conclusion that I'm way above that george shepherd guy.

Hi All I have been trying to add a control to the header cell of a datagrid on my ASP.NET page. These controls are defined in the HTML as ASP.NET web controls. They are being added into the header of the datagrid in the "ItemDataBound" method of the grid. However, once, they are added in the grid, i seem to lose the event handler for the...

Hey, Having somewhat of an issue, I have a datagrid which is giving me issues. The Datagrid is setup for the user to double click the row, the row is selected and data within that row populates a form for editing. the problem is when a user clicks on a cell instead of the whole row, I get an error. My question is this, is there anyway I can...

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone can help me with a really annoying problem I have been having. I made a derived datagrid class that will select the row when a user clicks anywhere on a cell (multi-select without modifier keys). I got that working fine, but I also wanted to keep rows selected after a sort, which I do by storing the row's...

Hey folks, Is there a way to make the data grid always select a row only and not an individual cell? Like...When I click on the row header it highlights the whole row in blue. But when I then click on a cell in another row, it selects just that cell. I don't want that. I want it to behave the same way as when clicking on the row header.

Hi There I have a datagrid whose main purpose in life is to provide a nice way for users to make a single choice from a list. The grid is read only, single row select and has its data source as an ArrayList. I came up against the issue of selecting a cell and getting the whole row to highlight, and the second issue of unhighlighting any...

Hi, Can anyone give me examples of how can I hightlight cells of my datagrid? I know that I must use ItemBound event and probably JavaScript. The thing is that I have a anual calendar, constructed in a DataGrid. Then what I want is select a range of two dates in that same calendar to do any action.

I want to fire a database update off of a single change to a single cell in the datagrid. This apparently cannot be done using keypress, keyup, keydown, etc. I've read George Shepard's FAQ and while I may have overlooked it, I have not found an answer. I now am using the CurrentCellChanged event, and this is satisfactory IF the user moves off...

I derived my own custom class from the datagrid class. I overrode the ProcessCmdKey Function, like this, to catch the up and down arrow keys: ====== Protected Overrides Function ProcessCmdKey(ByRef msg As Message, ByVal keyData As Keys) As Boolean Const WM_KEYDOWN As Integer = &H100

Hi folks, I have a DropDownList in a DataGrid that is populated from records in a database. I want to add a value that might be a string such as "Select a Company" for the first item since an OnSelectedIndex event is not fired if you select the first item. Does anyone know of an easy way to do this?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
