Should have no problems with that - I've used it a million times and it
works great - make sure that you're setting the ShowNewFolderBu tton property
to true before the call the ShowDialog method and you should be just fine.
Cheers,

I think you create a new instance of this object in the code and then modify
as you want .

IIRC, this dialog behaves differently depending on the version of Windows.

Hi,
The following code shows the FolderBrowserDialog = broken.
FolderBrowserDialog folderDialog = new FolderBrowserDialog();
folderDialog.ShowNewFolderButton = false;
folderDialog.ShowDialog();
Setting ShowNewFolderButton to false does bugger all. If I set this to
false it is STILL shown. Genius.

I am using Microsoft Development Environment 2003 Version 7.1.3088 and .NET

call. When we have the call, the folder browser dialog has the buttons but
not the folder tree. I am able to reproduce the problem by...

Hi all
I am developping an applicatin in ASPX with C# codebehind, with VS 2003
Is it possible to include a FolderBrowserDialog on my page? I would like that when a visitor click on a button, a FolderBrowserDialog appears, he selects a folder, and when he click "Ok" in the dialog, i get back the path of the folder

I've noticed that my program executable remains in the process list if at
any stage my program has shown a FolderBrowserDialog. I am calling .Dipose
on the dialog after use. This does not happen when I go through the code
paths that do not create and display this dialog. Is the folder browser
hanging onto something that is holding the rest of my program active on the
task list?
Any help would be appreciated :)
Thanks.

I have narrowed a problem down to a simple example. A form with two
buttons. One EXIT and one FBD. The exit button does an "END" to end the
application. The FBD button does a FolderBrowserDialog and nothing else.
When I start the application and hit EXIT everything works fine. However if
it display the FBD box (even if I don't pick a folder and immediately hit
cancel) and then try to exit one of two things happens. Either (1) the...

I have created an app that makes use of the FolderBrowserDialog.
Upon building the app, installing and running it, and invoking the form

Upon debugging, it hangs as well upon executing the line that extracts the
selected folder without further explanation. All looks well in the debugger
prior to executing the line marked with <<<<<< below. When I step over that...

I'm trying to have the user browse to a folder, once they click a
button, using the standard FolderBrowserDialog tool,
System.Windows.Forms.FolderBrowserDialog. I'm using VB.Net 2005.
There is a property, SelectedPath, that you're supposed to be able to
set that will initialize the folder browser window so that the tree
structure is already opened at that folder. The problem is that it
doesn't seem to work. No matter what I put, it has...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
