This is my first time posting here, so please forgive me if I do anything
incorrectly.
I've been learning C# and working with different things and decided I wanted
to get into Multi-Threading. My problem is that I must not be doing it right
because only some of the stuff works as would be expected. I'll post what
exactly is happening, then I'll post the sample code I'm using that is
giving me the problems. I'm sure its something I've...

I have written the following class to build a data grid
textbox column that has the KeyUp and KeyPress events
defined for the TextBox. I also defined the KeyDown event
for testing purposes only. The problem I am having is
that the KeyUp event never fires, while the KeyPress and
KeyDown events do fire. I have defined the events
correctly (I think), so this is leading me to beleive that
this may be a bug. Has anyone had this problem or...

Hi,
I'm writing user controls with custom events.
I have a parent custom event that exposes some abstract methods and
some custom events.
I have also created some new user controls that derive from the parent
custom control and add some text boxes, labels, buttons etc...

Hello,
This may be an elementary question, but I'm having a hard time finding a
document that answers this question:
What order are the events fired on classes / controls inherited from the
System.Windows.Forms.Control class as the control is being created? i.e.
does ControlAdded() get fired before Paint()? I good overview event
document would work great.
Thanks in advance.

i registered two events with a button.
when i press it , how can i know which is fired first?
or is there a way to make one of them get fired before the other one?
in fact i made a experiment about it :
i put message boxes in the events, when i press button only one event is
fired and other is never. why does that happens?

Hi again, thanks everyone for your previous help. But having resolved
past problems, I'm moving on to new problems :(
This one is a simple winforms application with two buttons, named
Button1 and Button2, on it (code below). When I press the mouse button
over Button2, and don't release it, in the IDE output window it prints
"Button2_MouseDown" only. If I release the mouse button over the
button, over the form, or even over ANY other...

I have a simple form with one button and one text box. In the Form, I create
an array list to track the events by adding a descriptive string item to the
arraylist in each event. I first Click on the Button then Click on the
TextBox and enter an "a" then click on the Button again. The following is
what I get for the event tracking Arraylist:
but - GotFocus
but - Clicked
but - LostFocus
txt - Changed

I'm confused by documentation and examples on using Delegate to create
Events for use with COM
In some situation I see a parameter list of (sender as Object, e as
EventArgs) and other times I see no parameters, or a list of parameters that
are event dependent.
Below is my .NET code to create a class which raises some events.
From C++ (using MFC 6.0) I create an instance of the object and
IConnectionPointContainer which seems to work.

Hi Guys,
I am trying to write/copy some code that uses events with a GPS.
Everytime the GPS position updates the event fires.
The GPS code is from a SDK Library that I got called GPS Tools from
www.franson.com
For some reason my code below doesnt work - the GpsFixEvent never seems
to "fire" as it were.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
