Call for Papers
SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES

The 2nd International Workshop on .NET Technologies aims at bringing
together practitioners and researchers from academia and the industry to
discuss the latest developments in .NET and advance the state of the art in
the research on related technologies. The .NET Technologies 2004 workshop
builds upon the positive experience of the previous edition of the event,
held in Pilsen in February 2003. The high quality of research presented at
the previous workshop shows the growing interest in .NET - both in the
platform itself (porting .NET to different operating systems, e.g. Mono,
ROTOR) and in related technologies and languages.
TOPICS

Original papers related to .NET and its applications are sollicited. Both
theoretical and practical results (experience reports and case studies) are
welcome.

Suggested submission topics include:
- SOFTWARE ENGINEERING: software components, large-scale software, software
correctness, software security,
- PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES AND TECHNIQUES: object-oriented techniques,
programming paradigms, multi-language programming,
- PARALLEL AND DISTRIBUTED COMPUTING: multithreading, distributed
applications, high-performance computing, web services,
- ALGORITHMS AND DATA STRUCTURES,
- EDUCATIONAL ASPECTS: teaching object-oriented paradigm with .NET,
educational software,
- HUMAN COMPUTER INTERFACES: computer graphics, virtual reality with .NET,
- SUPPORT FOR .NET ON UNIX: Mono project, ROTOR, etc.

Want to share your expertise? PyCon DC 2004 is looking for proposals to fill the formal presentation tracks. PyCon DC 2003 had a broad range of presentations, from reports on academic and commercial projects to tutorials and case studies, and we hope to extend that range this year. As long as the presentation is interesting and potentially useful to the Python community, it will be considered for inclusion in the program. The...

MessageBill reminds me to remind you that PyCon 2004 early-bird registration ends soon. PyCon is shaping up, and registrations are coming in. Still room for sprints on new topics, though - talk to Jeremy Hylton about them. Still time to send in your paper, too. This year we are also looking for good educational papers, as we have encouraged students to attend with a $50 discount, and they need good learning materials. Still a week before...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
