"advanced"? interop

how to interop this

NTSTATUS IoGetDeviceObje ctPointer
IN PUNICODE_STRING ObjectName
IN ACCESS_MASK DesiredAccess
OUT PFILE_OBJECT *FileObject
OUT PDEVICE_OBJECT *DeviceObjec
)

the problem is PFILE_OBJECT* and PDEVICE_OBJECT* . I don't want to declare them in C# because I'm not going to use them other than passing them into other functions (plus they are both semi opaque). I tried to use IntPtr, but keep getting NullReferenceEx ception.

Daniel,
I tried to use IntPtr, but keep getting NullReferenceEx ception.

Passed by value? If so, try making it an out parameter.

Hi I have read some mail on the dev mailing list about PEP 318 and find the new Syntax really ugly. def foo(x, y): pass I call this foo(1, 2), this isn't really intuitive to me! Also I don't like the brackets.

Ok, stupid question for the day. I'm reading the interview with Steve Moret and he says: "Once a lot of scripts started going in we knew there was no way we could back out of using Python." I'm just getting into Python and am wondering if I'm missing something or this is just a semantic issue. Thanks. -Ted

While reading through the "shortcuts" topic in the help, I saw that there's a "Format Document" option - CTRL+K, CTRL+D. Cool... so I go into a .cs source file (this is a winforms project) and hit those keys. The status bar tells me "The key combination (Ctrl+k, Ctrl+D) is not a command." Weird... I then check the Edit menu->Advanced. Format Selection is there, but Format Document isn't. Ok, so I go into Customize... verify that the...

Hi, My webservice is currently deployed on WIndows 2000 server and runs pretty fine. I am trying to run my webservice on a Windows 2003 server. My webservice tries to write to a eventlog. The code is as follows: System.Diagnostics.EventLog Log = new System.Diagnostics.EventLog( EventLogName ); Log.Source = EventLogName; Log.WriteEntry( "PCHistory Service Application started up successfully.",

Advanced Delegates Delegates may be the least-understood part of the CLR. Delegates look a bit like method pointers, but the differences go well beyond delegates' multi-cast abilities. I will start with a quick survey of delegate basics, including invocation list editing and event syntax (which few people seem to really understand). I will then explore 2.0's anonymous methods before concluding with a lengthy discussion of asynchronous...

Hi all, Is there some sort of coherent source (dead tree format, maybe?) on some of the more advanced features of python (decorators, metaclasses, etc)? I'm sort of looking for a python book that actually gets to the good stuff at some point, without first spending 6 chapters on how to append ints to a list. I can't seem to find any. I get the impression people just get by with scraps and code snippets

Problem is that I can't really put all the details in here because of an NDA. What's going on is that a query with multiple left joins is apparently spooking mySQL. Server doesn't crash but I get: "Query Failed:SELECT accounts.id as account_id.. LEFT JOIN ... LEFT JOIN .... LEFT JOIN ..." (Big query is what I mean) "... amount DESC LIMIT 0,5 ::MySQL error 2013: Lost connection to MySQL server during query" I have never seen that...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
