getting user name and password for windows task creation

Hello:

I'm using a C# component to manage windows tasks. It allows task
creation providing an account name and password. The operating system
will only execute the task if the account information for the task is
complete and correct (the user exists and its password is provided).
It's quite easy to programmaticaly get the current user's name for the
account executing the application; but, how do some applications (such
as Norton System Works) to create windows tasks with my user name and
password? I don´t want to have access to a user's password; just to
get a way to pass it to the task I´m creating.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Regards, Juanma.

I am trying to figure out how to pass set of credentials to System.IO Challenge is: App is running under one set of credentials, but via GUI user have a chance to enter another set. I would like to be able to use supplied credentials with System.IO versus using default credentials that app is running under. So far I am forced to use WMI which is less convenient and slower then System.IO, but it's providing me with "Connection Options"

I have a web application written in VS.2003 and running on version 1.1 of the .NET Framework on XP pro and Windows server 2003 that connects to a SQL server database and authenticates itself using windows authentication. The web application is configured to impersonate a local user account that has been granted access to the database. Here's the impersonation snip...

I am writing a service that monitors when a particular app is started. Works, but I need to get the user who is currently logged in, and of course Environment.UserName returns the service logon (NT_AUTHORITY\SYSTEM). I understand that when the service starts, no user may be logged in, but that's ok, as the app I am monitoring can only be run by a logged in user. Do I need to use WMI to get the user context of Explorer.exe or is there a...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
