I recently found out that unicode("\347", "iso-8859-1") is the
lowercase c-with-cedilla, so I set out to round up the unicode numbers
of the extra characters you need for French, and I found them all just
fine EXCEPT for the o-e ligature (oeuvre, etc). I examined the unicode
characters from 0 to 900 without finding it; then I looked at
www.unicode.org but the numbers I got there (0152 and 0153) didn't
work. Can anybody put a help on me wrt...

The convert method allows us to change any base number (bin, octal,
hex ) to decimal, but how can I change a decimal value back to an
octal number???
Thanks in advance

Hi all;
I'm really struggling to get C# to do the right thing when parsing
non-decimal strings as numbers. What I really want to be able to do is
take a string containing an integer in any valid format (decimal, octal
with leading zero, hex with leading "0x") and have C# get the conversion
right.
I hope I'm missing something, but it seems like you have to know in
advance what format a string is in for it to be parsed correctly. None

I am writing a little base conversion utility called base.c.
This is what base does.
$ base -127
Signed decimal: -127
Unsigned decimal: 4294967169
Hexidecimal: 0xffffff81
Octal: O37777777601
Binary: 1098 7654 3210 9876 5432 1098 7654 3210

i'd like to implement a class template to convert binary numbers to
decimal at compile time.
and my test cases are:
BOOST_STATIC_ASSERT((bin<1111,1111,1111,1111>::value == 65535));
BOOST_STATIC_ASSERT((bin<1111>::value == 15));
BOOST_STATIC_ASSERT((bin<0>::value == 0));
BOOST_STATIC_ASSERT((bin<1010, 0011>::value == 163));
you can find my implementation at:

Python has had the Decimal data type for some time now. The Decimal data
type is ideal for financial calculations. Using this data type would be
more intuitive to computer novices than float as its rounding behaviour
matches more closely what humans expect. More to the point: 0.1 and 0.01
are exact in Decimal and not exact in float.
Unfortunately it is not very easy to access the Decimal data type. To obtain
the decimal number 12.34 one...

Try Wikipedia or any search engine.
There are standard algorithms for converting between representations.
See above. Good programmer calculators have these built in.

ONU (Optical Network Unit) is one of the key components for providing high-speed Internet services. Its primary function is to act as an endpoint device located at the user's premises. However, people are often confused as to whether an ONU can Work As a Router. In this blog post, we’ll explore What is ONU, What Is Router, ONU & Router’s main usage, and What is the difference between ONU and Router. Let’s take a closer look !

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
